The Long and Short of It
I used to think you had to be built like Giselle in order to gracefully pull off a maxi dress. While I admit they’re a bit tricky, you don’t need to be 6′ or stick skinny to make them work. Whether you choose to accessorize with a wide belt, a long necklace or some pretty sandals, they’re an easy way to glide through warmer weather while looking chic and understated.

I just love a long dress especially that 2nd one.
I love maxi dresses because they’re comfortable…even more so than jeans. Just throw one on with some sunglasses, bangles and a slouchy handbag, and you’re good to go.

I agree about not needed to be super tall to pull off a maxi dress. I had avoided long dresses forever since I’m short, and admittedly, just bought my first long dress this year and love it! Love the second one!

I love maxi dresses… you don’t have to worry if your legs are hairy or tan or, like you said, as sleek as Giselle. They are effortless!

I’ve never been into long skirts or dresses, but I’m thinking I might try one out this summer. And I’m kinda loving that one from Delia’s. Who knew? I love the print!

i wholeheartedly agree, you don’t have to be tall or rail thin to wear a maxi dress. every woman looks gorgeous in a floor length gown, so why would these be any different? lovely picks, btw!!

I ordered the last one from F21, and while I do like it, it’s a little on the short side. I’m 5’7″ and it hits above my ankles, so I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do with it. This would be a great option for you more vertically-challenged ladies

Maxi dresses are gorgeous, but I’m a klutz, so I’m terrified to even attempt wearing one. I can just picture myself tripping on the skirt and falling. Most likely in front of a cute boy!

I actually broke mine out today to wear out to lunch with two of my favorite people, both style mavens! Maxi dresses are the best, I’m so happy they are still on this season!

I couldn’t stop thinking about that ae one so I just looked at it online and alas it is even more amazing than I thought…it has wooden ring details AND an amazingly sexy tie back…I’m getting a black one and a purple one. Consider your blog my personal stimulus plan!!
