Superbowl Snack: Brownie Burgers

February 2nd, 2012

I’ll be honest – the only thing I care about when it comes to the Superbowl is the food and the commercials. Superbowl snacks should be indulgent, festive, and easy-to-eat, which is why I knew I had to make these the minute I spotted them in this month’s Martha Stewart Living (instructions here). They’re a sweet twist on a classic hamburger, with peanut butter cookies as the bun, brownies for the meat, and dyed shredded coconut and royal icing for the lettuce and ketchup. They’re a fun way to embrace game day without feeling too predictable.

Oh my god this is ADORABLE!! I love it. I’m making football shaped cookies with Nutella in the middle and drawing the seams on with white icing. This seems a little more complicated, but equally delicious!

Aghhhh!! Emily these are entirely too cute! They actually look like real burgers! I made some m&m cupcake pies for a girlfriend where the M&Ms were made to look like pie filling and then I created the lattice crust with cream cheese frosting they were a hit. Love this idea & Martha Stewart is a genius. I’m always scoping here site for ideas for my recipe posts!

they look so cute!! i have a sweet tooth but i think they might test my commitment to sugar, that’s a lot of stuff going on there!

(i can never manage a whole one of those whoopie pies you get in america – i’m happy with just 1 cookie!)
