Summertime S’mores

July 10th, 2009

I wonder if there will ever be a greater combination of flavors than those in a S’more.*

*Occasionally I mix peanut butter, chocolate chips and coconut flakes on a spoon and shove it into my mouth, but it isn’t quite as appealing.

Mmm, i love making s’mores! I miss going to the beach, because when I’m at the beach, we always make s’mores. Your pictures are so enticing. It makes me really want one at the moment.

    now I know the meaning:

The name “s’more” means “some more”, as in: “give me some more!”.

    thanks a lot!

You’re too cute. I don’t think I’ve had s’mores in years. It’s funny, I have the biggest sweet tooth in the summer. Desserts taste extra great in the hot weather. Well, this was my favorite childhood treat, oh, and marshmallow cream straight out of the jar!

Looove your brighter than the sun nails! My favorite thing to do is roast the mallow then stick a rolo on the end of the stick then when you slide it off with the graham cracker and chocolate you end up with a rolo filled mallow.

mmm, love s’mores. A close second is the banana boat, which I used to make camping with girl scouts: peel one side of the banana, cut it down the middle, stuff it with marshmallows and chocolate chips, recover with the peel, wrap in tin foil and put on the campfire. Once it’s heated, eat with a spoon :)

  • Kaitie

    Emily,

When you can’t get a fire going, grab some graham crackers, fluffer nutter (the marshmallow spread), and a jar of Nutella. Voila! S’mores in an instant! No flame, no mess :)

  • http://fashionchalet.blogspot.com/ Fashion CHALET

Yes, I too can admit to being a S’mores fiend!! :)

Unfortunately I have a terrible autoimmune disease that means I must deny my impulses for chocolate and refined sugar. I can eat the graham cracker and that’s about it. :(

Emily, I am delving into the archives of your blog during my downtime at work and was almost giddy when I read this post! Particularly your admission to occasionally combining chocolate chips, peanut butter, and coconut on a spoon and eating it. I do that too (minus the coconut although I may have to try that)! And it’s one of those things that I will only do while alone in my apartment. One of my “secret single behaviors” a la Sex and the City. It doesn’t happen as often now that there is a husband with whom I share my space, but I love that I am not the only girl out there that does this. Made me feel a little less crazy, so thank you!
