Spring Make-Up

March 22nd, 2011

One of the best things that comes with sunny weather is a simple beauty routine that focuses on dewy skin, bright eyes and pink lips. I like to keep things as natural as possible in warmer months and these are my favorite products that help give the impression that I’ve spent the day at the beach. Whether it’s a texturizing surf spray, an illuminating powder or a flirty fragrance, these are my current must-haves. Do you have any go-to products for spring?

2. Josie Maran Magic Marker Lip and Cheek Stain in Jitterbug $19
3. Kate Spade Twirl $18
4. Maybelline Falsies Mascara in Very Black $8.69
5. Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray $22

The only thing missing the the elusive John Frieda shampoo and conditioner I was addicted to a few years ago…it was green and smelled minty and was made with sea water…the best for beachy texture.

Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Coralberry
L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes (It’s very similar to Mayebelline’s Falsies, but provides a touch more thickness.)
Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation in Wet Sand. For 10 years, I’ve been a Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer devoteee, but felt that I needed a bit more coverage lately. I’m not sure this provides more coverage, but the shade is a perfect match for my skin and feels weightless. (I wasn’t a fan of the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick; that’s too heavy.)
Maybelline’s Color Sensation Lipstick in Plaza Pink – It reminds me, sort of, of Nars’ Dolce Vita, but a bit more pastel and pinky. It’s a perfect springy pale pink.

You should do a tutorial on the Bumble and Bumble Beach spray because the videos on the site make the models look like they have bed head rather than beach hair.
