Sheer Seduction
It’s easy to get in the same routine of throwing on little sundresses anytime the weather is slightly warmer than usual. It’s not like there’s anything wrong with that, but it’s also good to mix things up every once in a while. Lately I’ve been all about blouses in the sheerest of fabrics with delicate prints and a billowy fit. They’re perfect over some rolled up shorts, tucked into skinny jeans or even over one of your sundresses and cinched with a belt. Here are a few that are currently on my radar.
1. Rebecca Taylor Charm Me Puma-Print Tunic, $245
2. Modcloth Free as a Bird Blouse, $107.99
3. Adam Heart-Print Silk Blouse, $245
4. Topshop Rose Floral Pussybow Blouse, $90
5. Forever 21 In The Wind Floral Top, $22.80
6. Armand Basi Loly Printed Cotton Blouse, $112.50
7. Forever 21 Field Of Flowers Top, $24.80
8. Elizabeth and James Cheyenne Printed Silk Shirt, $265

I’ve been living in high-waisted shorts and billowy blouses. It makes for a pretty together look while still being really comfortable and cool. The Adam blouse is beautiful. I love the colors and print…and of course it’s the most expensive one…ugh!

I love shirts 5-7!

Why is it I always like the items in excess of $200 best? Expensive taste I guess!

Check out this one, too: http://vagabondblondes.blogspot.com/2010/06/gingham-greatness.html

ohhh i really like that style! so chic! especially number 3, 6 and 8!
I’m also a dress kind of girl, it’s good to have another option. And these blouses are so easy to wear.

Numbers 2 and 7 have to be my favorites. I’ve been loving all of the bird patterns everywhere this summer, and it works quite well on a flowy shirt. I have to agree that these shirts are a great option to the sundress. They are a wonderfully relaxed look with a subtle sexiness, and they look good on basically everyone. I just came across a beige one that I’m currently pairing with a camel colored belt – seems to be working!

These are all so pretty, in a delicate way. Surprisingly, I was drawn to the Forever 21 top the most!
They are all so prety in their own way and although I don’t have anything like this at the moment they have been on my radar aswell.

I’ve been dreaming of silk, too. That Elizabeth and James blouse is glorious …
Love the idea of the sheer blouse over cut offs or a bare dress. Thanks for the different price points. I’d go for the TopShop bouse at 4 – beautiful romantic print. Love the blog.
Those blouses are so pretty. I have a few vintage ones that I wear with shorts. I almost always wear a dress but it’s nice to switch things up. 1 & 6 are my faves.

I am loving number 1 and 3. And I totally agree. Summer fashion can get real boring real quick. Mixing it up with things like this is definitely key!
love them all!

ohhh #3 is beautiful!
I love all the even # tops, especially #4! I’m more prone to grabbing a printed top over a sundress, and these picks feed that habit!
xx Vivian @ http://diamondsandtulle.blogspot.com
I’m with ASquared. These look like granny blouses to me, esp. #4. Of course, I’m sure it’s all in how they’re styled, with belts, accessories, etc. But for me, I’ll PASS.
#2 is gorgeous! Love these tops!

Love these. I think # 2 is my favorite!

I love big blouses too! I love how comfy they are, yet they look so sophisticated. I’m big on wearing them with skinnies, but haven’t really tried them with shorts (I’m not the biggest fan of my legs, but I’m working on it, lol).
Blouse #2 is a big fav and so is blouse #4. Thanks for sharing.

Floral blouses are great in the spring/summer. Nice pics.

Oh oh oh! I love them ALL! I could never choose just one!

Delightful Bitefuls
I’ve been into the blouse-over-dress look lately, as well. It’s unexpected and makes you feel instantly stylish. Kinda like the way adding on a scarf can change your whole look.
Also, I love every one of these blouses, which is a problem!
Can’t wait to hear where you’re going, Miss Secretive.
Love number 2 & 4…really pretty.SarahD:)
I like number 7. great choices!
Ooh, I’m loving this trend! These billowy shirts are gorgeous! My favorites are #1, #2, and #7.
I love the look of sheer blouses too

Super pretty – I’ve been looking for tops like this to wear with jeans for casual-but-not-sloppy outfits. I especially love #2!
I love these blouses as they’re also perfect for my work summer wardrobe. The right one can be perfect over a white, summer dress, too!
xx.

Love that ModCloth top! So gorgeous!
Nos 2 & 3 are gorgeous!
http://real-lifecatwalk.blogspot.com
those looks so breezy and cool for summer!
I love the modcloth green printed blouse! I could wear nothing but sheer tops all summer, the ventilation kind of makes them necessities.
http://tovogueorbust.blogspot.com/
oh I love them!
I always run straight for the dresses when summer shopping and then wonder why things get so repetitive in that closet of mine. Thanks for tweaking my shopping list!

Elizabeth and James…. of course it’d be my favorite. So fantastic.
the third one is gorgeous!

I’m just slightly too in love with numbers 2 and 3. And by slightly I mean that I desperately want them! Also am loving the new “Recipes” button — I can’t thank you enough for it; I’ve been trying out your delicious recipes all summer (the Fleur de Sel caramels are up next)!

After seeing Elizabeth and James’ “Havana Blouse”, I immediately added a reasonably priced sheer top to my summer must-have list … Love the options you’ve featured here!

Lovely! I want numbers 1 & 2. Sooo adorable.
I like each one, they’re great for the summer!
I love tie neck blouses, I feel like they have a retro secretary sex appeal to them (maybe that’s just to me!). So obviously #2 and #4 have me weak in the knees!
WE LOVE YOUR BLOG! Love that you featured a Chan Luu wrap in an earlier post..check out our blog at http://www.chanluu.com!
Urg, why do I have to have such expensive taste, #1 please
http://thequietingmuses.blogspot.com/
love these picks! I am so guilty of taking the easy way out with simple dresses and skirts, especially in summertime, but I’m also a big time sucker for a beautiful blouse. I love the prints and silhouettes you’ve chosen with these tops….my faves especially being #6 and #8, with #1 and #5 coming in close as runners up.
These also look fab with a short, high-waisted skirt!

All this is Grace and Charm

im totally looooooving them all!
i can’t get enough of the loose tops over skinny jeans look. once the temperature climbs past 90 in oklahoma, i’m throwing on a sundress, though. can’t do it.
i’m in love with the first top. rebecca taylor’s line is killer (and i’m not just saying that because we share the same last name
http://cookieandkate.com
all so lovely, #6 is my favorite!!
http://asequindressatbreakfast.wordpress.com
Love the sheer. But still confused as what to wear underneath. Bikini top? Nude bras? Tank top?
http://closethound.blogspot.com/
So lovely sheer little things!

Number 2 TOTALLY does it for me. I have a real love at the moment for swallows – I have swallow necklaces, swallow print teadresses, swallow earrings…am even thinking about having a swallow tattoo on my hip or wrist. They’re so delicate and lovely. As is the blouse they’re printed all over in your post.
Lovely, as usual.
Number 5 and 7 are my favourites
http://www.raindropsofsapphire.com
i would totally wear number 3 and 4 with like denim short shorts and straw hat with a large spacious bag to make it look more young and hip. they are all very pretty though!!

I completely agree – I love a sheer floaty blouse for a feminine change in summer. Besides, the weather continues to remain pathetic in London, rendering it impossible to wear tiny dresses and tops without goosebumps.
Miss B xx
http://agirlastyle.wordpress.com/
good view and good suggestion!but maybe they don't work on curvy women!
I love sheer print blouses too – effortless, clean and always pretty.
Top #4 is LOVE. My new goal is to find a top just like it
Pretty choices!
