And just like that, Sloan is 2. This past year she transformed from a timid baby into an inquisitive, bright, silly little girl. She brings so much joy into our lives, and with it a new perspective—one that makes me feel more present and connected in everything I do. We spent the weekend with family and friends, reminiscing about her various hair styles (particularly the Don Draper stage and later the Kate Gosselin-inspired 'do), love of counting, obsession with 'The Lion King' (which served as the theme for her party), and enthusiasm for any kind of snack. We're so lucky to have such a happy, healthy girl and I can't wait to see the wonderful things this year will bring.
