My husband and I love to entertain. My favorite way is to host a lazy Sunday brunch that extends well into the afternoon, whereas he prefers a dinner party (complete with a signature cocktail to kick things off). But right around this time of year, we end up upping our hosting game, tenfold. Friends come in from out of town, we throw impromptu holiday gatherings, and always find excuses to try out new recipes, which require more than just two people to finish. Here are some of my classic holiday entertaining favorites (like the tartan mugs seen earlier today) as well as some new discoveries to get you in the mood to host.

1. Moose shaped fire starters, $24

2. Heath chocolate ramekin for salt + pepper, $10

3. Sugar Paper place cards, $14

4. My favoritecedar scented candle, $30

5. Ruffled edge pie dish, $45.95

6. Simple stemless champagne flutes, $2

7. Joni Mitchell Blue, $6.99

8. The best holiday mugs, $58

9. Birch covered votives, $13

10. Gold cheese knives, $23

11. Rustic table runner, $68

12. Fall leaves coaster set, $48
