Theory, belting outwear similar to Edun and an ombré lip like that at Band of Outsiders
I skipped NYFW this season (thanks largely in part to having just moved, starting work on my second book and the bitter cold back east), but still kept close watch on all of the shows. I always enjoy spotting the trends that may look extreme on the runways, but are simple enough to incorporate into everyday looks. Here's my take on the extreme side part seen at
Theory to Opening Ceremony. I like this trend because it's a simple change to implement, but makes a big impact. The key is having the part be super sleek, but giving the rest of your hair a good amount of messy volume.
Extreme side parts were seen all over the runways from
cozy cocoon-shaped coat before, but the silhouette can look a bit bulky. When doing heavy layering, like on the Edun runway, I love the idea of belting it to nip in the waist.
I've showcased this
Band of Outsiders dark-lined lip that faded in the center, but the look was a bit severe for me to pull off. Instead, I paired two favorite lipsticks (Maybelline's 'Coral Crush' and Revlon's 'Nude Attitude') for a pop of color with some dimension.
