Cupcakes and Cashmere

Ruffled in Chiffon

November 26th, 2012

Elizabeth and James Sunglasses, J.Crew Shirt, Gap Jacket, Free People Skirt, Proenza Schouler Booties, Reed Krakoff Bag

Our Thanksgiving vacation was exactly what I wanted it to be – time with friends and family, lots of great food, and lounging around in my hometown. We got back on Saturday and spent the rest of the weekend in L.A. running errands and prepping for the week ahead. Apparently we missed quite the heat wave while we were away, and I couldn’t be happier that the weather has returned to a temperature that feels more appropriate for the end of November. I bought this chiffon sequined skirt for the upcoming holiday season, but decided to dress it down – with a plaid shirt, army jacket, and booties – so that I could wear it just a little bit earlier than expected.

I love the Free People Skirt! I just saw it in the window at Nordstroms and I was like drooling over it.

I know everyone has their own opinion, but it looks like you just rolled out of bed, forgetting to brush your hair and threw on whatever was laying on the floor for the Black Friday sale at 6 am at Walmart. You can do so much better than this!

you are almost 30 please get it together. Chiffon with plaid and the messy hair. Re-think.

What the heck is the look supposed to be? It says to me that you picked up the first items you found and threw them all on together. Seriously, there should be at least one common thread for the things we put together.

Snookie called and she wants her look back. Honestly, this outfit says you had a great night out and are now doing the walk of shame. Looks like your boyfriend’s shirt over your cocktail dress. Not a good look.

Wow, I am really shocked by the comments on this post. I understand that everyone has their own opinions (that’s why we blog), but there is no reason to be mean or disrespect someone’s style.

    Well, as I’m always saying:

“As a successful fashion blogger you need a thick skin, but skinny legs!”

I like everything except the skirt which is 6 inches too short and the hair that needs a hat. Lke the shirt and jacket

I love this girly meets rugged look. It’s unexpected & the different textures make the outfit pop. I think the neutral jacket is key to tying it all together.
ps: love your style!…and for everyone that can’t think outside the box, no reason to disrespect – you’re only a click away from something that does hold your imagination. :)
