Purple Blanket
Vintage Capelet, Lisa Kathryn Headband, Forever 21 Watch, BDG Jeans, Cynthia Vincent Wedges
L.A. is pretty devoid of cherry blossoms in the spring, but what we lack in pretty pink flowers, we make up for with purple. Since the trees only bloom for a short amount of time, my boyfriend and I took several walks this week along the petal-covered sidewalks. The suddenly chilly onset of weather has been perfect since I just bought this blazer-turned-capelet and was doubting my ability to wait until fall to pull it out of my closet. Also, thank you to Lisa who sent over this beautiful headband from her shop that’s stocked full of “Blair Waldorf-esque” pieces.

I really miss jacaranda trees! I grew up in Zimbabwe, and they were just everywhere. Our whole city turned purple when the flowers fell.

What a great outfit, although were the heel comfortable strolling in? I always wear sweats & either flip flops or tennis shoes. At least you’re always lookin’ fab! Those purple flowers are gorgeous, except sometimes they stain my sidewalk. =)

i do think you paired the cape nicely with this entire outfit ( i don’t have any idea how to wear them and i just can’t shake off the harry potter feeling). your purple/pink nail polish does match the small little purple flowers around it.

*sigh* the flowers.. We haven’t had a proper spring this year. So my eye always falls on flowers these days.
I love those purple flowers. they are all over my apartment complex so whenever I took my puppy Hazel for a walk this past week I would draw her attention to them and she would run around in them so happy (and she liked to chew them a little too!). loving the headband and your nail polish by the way!

I think that’s a Jacaranda tree. Over here (in Australia) there is a silly superstition that if a Jacaranda flower falls on you, you’ll fail your exams - and of course exam time is the start of summer, when the flowers are out! I’ve finished now but I do remember getting a bit edgy as my uni was right next door to the Botanical Gardens that had Jacarandas all along the walkways!

When I was a little girl I saw those blossoms for the first time. I shouted out of the window of the car “Daddy! I want one of those!!” He said “Of what?” “Of the most beautiful purple tree I’ve ever seen!! I want to read beneath those!” He told me that they were called Jacarandas. To this day I smile every single time I pass one. I’ve yet to stop and sit underneath one and read a book…. I think I’ll make that a plan!
