Puffy Love
Selma Blair is one of those fashionable ladies whose style I adore, but recognize that I can’t come close to recreating most the looks she puts together (like this and this). Her latest appearance on MTV’s TRL was a perfect example, when she wore an Unhee black romper and Roger Vivier heels that just oozed 20’s appeal. Since I certainly can’t pull off the entire ensemble with the same ease and grace, I picked my favorite part of the outfit, her balloon sleeves, and made it my own.
At a recent Built by Wendy sample sale, I swiped up this three-tiered poufy-sleeved dress. Though I was initially apprehensive about adding any extra width to my build, I quickly learned to love how the wider shoulders create the illusion of a smaller waist. Since I was conscious of looking too dainty in this confection-like dress, I paired it with some rugged boots to toughen it up a bit.
Dress – Built by Wendy

great idea pairing it with the boots which by the way are amazing!
I knew this was BBW as soon as I saw those sleeves! So gorgeous.
Good call w/ the boots. Definitely balanced the look.
You hit the nail on the head!<3
I adore brown leather with summer whites, excellent pairing of the boots with the floaty dress.
Thanks for your comment, I thought it would be fun to combine black and pink. Have you seen my video post yet? It’s my first attempt at it.
Why is Selma always so darn fashionable?? You did a fabulous job recreating her look, and I adore those boots! The look great with the femininity of the dress.
love puffs and boots. right on

I missed your more “personal” posts. This ensemble is beautiful, and may I state the obvious, much fresher and cooler than Selma’s. I am sorry, Selma, but you could not beat that summer dress brown boots combo!

You look really pretty! I love that dress… With white, I either like it in chiffon or structured fabrics! You look superb with that boots – a sweet yet quirky look! I like Selma Blair’s style! She is one of a few actresses who is not heavily influenced by other Hollywood trends… that’s so great xxxxxxxxx
