Pretzel Dogs

June 5th, 2012

Summertime to me means baseball games (fact: I’m a diehard Oakland A’s fan and cringe at all of the Giants bandwagoners that emerged after their World Series victory two years ago). I grew up going to games with my dad, which also meant peanuts, cotton candy and, of course, hot dogs. Hot dogs are one of my favorite indulgences, only made better when baked inside a homemade pretzel roll. I followed Joy’s recipe and they were insanely irresistible –  three of us polished off the entire batch in one sitting.

    That’s such an great idea!!

I love pretzels! I am born and orginally from Munich so I basically grew up with them!! Have you been there before? In Munich you definitley can get the best pretzels in the whole world!! But your Pretzel dogs look very delicious, too!! If you can get your hands on Händelmeier Sweet Mustard you should try it!! It goes best with pretzels!! And I am sure with your pretzel dogs as well!!

    All the best!!

I TOTALLY agree with you on the baseball thing! I was raised with the Oakland A’s, and so why I’m not a huge baseball fan, I have a very special place in my heart for those guys. I, too, found it interesting/annoying the number of Johnny-come-lately’s that surrounded the Giants. I was thrilled that they won, especially since it was a team so close to us, but I didn’t become a seasonal die-hard for the Giants just because they were winning.

I’m not the biggest fan of hot dogs, but I’d definitely fill these with veggie dogs! I love grainy mustard with bread. Such a great, nostalgic combination.
