Pretty Little Things
The weeks following the holidays are always a bit tough. The anticipation fades, morning mimosas are traded in for glasses of plain juice and the twinkling lights that illuminate the city are taken down. In order to abstain from some of the daily disappointment that January brings, I’ve decided to focus on the pretty little things in my life. Here were just a few of them that made me happy today.
{Essie pink polishes line a bubble bath}
{A new lacy skirt in the prettiest nude}
{A vintage glass cake stand I recently thrifted}
{A sleeping kitten all bundled up}
{A pint of mint chip gelato from my favorite Gelateria}

Gorgeous skirt
Those are beautiful things, I love Essie nail polishes and the cake platter looks so cute. I’m always out looking for vintage cake platters and dishes because they’re so unique. Good find.
Who would’ve thought nail polish can bring happiness? It’s true though…
They are so gorgeous, I really love the essie polishes

I am also feeling the dissapointments that January brings. I need to focus on the little things that make me happy and keep me going. Thanks for the spirit lifter. It is always the simple things that can make things just that much better.
I’m dying to see that lace skirt in action!
I too am fighting the post-holiday winter blahs. I painted my nails red instead of pink to cheer myself up!
I’m loving your picks and the post! It’s a great idea for post-holiday blues! Love the Essie polishes, the cake stand, and you kitty! Love your blog and I’ve added you to my blogroll. http://www.diamondsandtulle.blogspot.com
Hope you’ll check it out!
That skirt looks beautiful, and I love that you remember the small things. For me, it’s all about them.
Two beautiful things together make a wonderful combination of a stunning, frothy, girly skirt.
January is so slow… I feel like people have taken their time to get back up to blogging speed.
Yes, January can be such a blah month. Glad you found little things to keep you smiling.
Essie nail polish is my favorite. How beautiful yours look all lined up. And I love love your cake stand.

I love some good nail colours and some lace. Gelato isn’t bad either!
“morning mimosas are traded in for glasses of plain juice”
somehow i’m still finding excuses to add a little something something to juice in the morning haha.
Beautiful pictures ! It’s such a good idea to focus on what’s gorgeous around you instead of letting yourself go into a january blues
) (I do hate it when the twinkling lights are taken down, such a sad time)
Your photos are always so beautiful!
I really like your style
You’ve got a new follower!

My favorite are the nail polishes
I love that cake stand! Beautiful skirt too.
Those colors are always a win in my book. P.S. I heart gelato too. Makes me feel a bit better since it’s a more exotic than ice cream
I love the skirt and the kitty! xoxo

I want to make a cake after seeing that cake stand!
Nail polish makes any day better but your kitten is adorable!! My cat always makes me want to cuddle, even in the hottest months.

Lovely photos! Where is that skirt from? I need it!!!
love this post!
so i’m pretty sure that skirt you pictured is the exact same one i bought my friend for christmas… if it is (blog readers who asked) it’s from urban outfitters! so pretty
love these snaps.
you always pair the greatest images….makes me want to have all those things right in front of me (especially the ice cream….yum….and even the cat….and I’m allergic!)
well done!
i love the sleeping kitten! esp how he/she is sleeping on their back, my cat always sleeps on his side or his belly
Emily, you truly take the most stunning photographs – I simply cannot get enough of any of these. I may have to add them to my inspiration folder!!
the sweet sleeping kitten made me melt. My cat sleeps the same way, he’s all black – only he sleeps on his belly – when he tucks his paws and they turn up, it kills me.
all of these are ridiculously lovely.
Kiss Luna for me
how sweet! i agree, watching my cats & dogs sleep, little chocolate candies & pretty shoes make me happy.
xoxo alison
