Popsicle Pink

June 18th, 2008

With the official start of summer only days away, I’ve been innately drawn to punchy bright colors. Since the temperatures will be in the triple digits here in L.A., it’s only fitting that I’ll be staying cool in easy pieces such asKarta’s Jeweled Shift Dress. The faceted stone detail down the front is surprisingly subtle and the retro shape is playfully offset by a color that rivals the juiciestpopsicles. While the entire photo of the dress (including the model’s footwear) is available on ShopBop, I intentionally chose to use the cropped version so I can ask:

What shoes would you pair with this dress?

I’d love to pair that with shiny blue patent pumps but I am not quite that avant garde; so I’d go with nude super high pumps or maybe white thick criss cross pumps.
Or maybe the gray patent Chloe bandage booties I’ve been craving, which I imagine go with everything? So many possibilities.
Not black though! Im sick of pink and black

Wow-a gorgeous dress! I personally think flat strappy sandals would be nice!

  • http://ausstyle.blogspot.com a dreamer

i’m not too sure what shoes would go with the dress. some nude sandals? i dunno. i’m too distracted by the popsicles. yum.

  • http://austereurbanity.blogspot.com Austere

Hm…like other people said, I think nude sandals would look good. Those popsicles look tasty as well. haha.

    mmm…Popsicles.

I’d suggest nice ballet flats (Lanvin are super confy but not cheap), gladiator sandals, or if you’re tired of that some nice strappy sandals

    cute dress

If you opt for flats I’d go for colour – yellow or orange to contrast the pink.
If that’s too bold a choice then silver is 3rd choice

with high heels i’d go metallic, silver sandals. Or a tan sandal with wooden heel.
Black would be very fashion forward and out there!

I will got for sandals (gladiator style) but please not those very up on the leg one. From K jacques.
Or some very simple BB ballerinas in black from Repetto.

The dress has a pretty easy-going 60s shape. I would wear them with flat strappy sandals or mary-jane! Since it is an advert, I guess they want their models to look more flattering, maybe some wedges?

    You ask cute questions xxxx

  • http://www.myideaoffashion.blogspot.com/ saray

umm you can pair it wit orange flats..
    you can also try Gladiators..

  • http://www.fashiondaydreams.blogspot.com * Fashion Dreamer *

Hmmmm either something clashing like electric blue, or nude Chloe shoeboots like someone else said. Or perhaps white wedges?

  • http://www.prettygeeky.com/ alldoneup

hmm….I’d go nude or metallic flats *sighs, I’m not very imaginative when it comes to shoes. haha, that’s because I despise shoe shopping for my teeny tiny feet, nothing ever fits, wth! =(

Those popsicles are making my mouth water! yummm!

Oh, I’ve also added you to my links, hope you will do the same? =d

  • http://www.siljesfashion.com silje

Nude high gladiator heels or white wedges.

  • http://full-clothes.blogspot.com Eleh

definitely metallic coloured shoes. im leaning towards silver.

  • http://www.cocosteaparty.blogspot.com coco

This dress is reallt cute, I can imagine Cameron Diaz in it!

  • http://www.squareoldsoul.blogspot.com Pamcasso

tan/nude heels, or perhaps yellow! so cute!

  • http://engagedtobengaged.blogspot.com brandi

    love the bright colors!

  • http://www.fashionableobsessions.blogspot.com Fashionable Obsessions

  • http://www.prettysandyfeet.com/ katelin

i am seriously all about the bright colors during summer, hell who am i kidding i love bright colors year round :)

and as for shoes i would say white or turquoise. strappy or sandals would work, i think.

  • http://kirafashion.blogspot.com kirafashion

very delicated heels and a cluth or big bag :)

    a kiss!

  • http://qinatthedisco.blogspot.com qin

The pink is so pretty. I will wear it wit fringe sandals :) or oxfords <3

  • http://shesdressingup.blogspot.com shesdressingup

Shoes hmmm… Maybe tan coloured sandals?
    The dress is yummy!

  • http://www.hailmary-fullofgrace.blogspot.com Hail Mary

I would do a white mary jane I think! But I’m rather prim I guess..
I love the colour your lips turn after having a pink popsicle! I wish there was a lipgloss or something for that.

  • http://coffeefashionandtv.blogspot.com/ Anna

so pretty! i would probably wear it with golden gladiators, or with a black belt and black heels. how would you wear it? ;)

  • http://dresseduplikealady.blogspot.com Cammila

The shoes thing always kills me. I think probably something equally uber-modern feeling, like patent white pumps or something sherbet colored.

  • http://fatalfashionattraction.blogspot.com danz

The dress is really nice! The pink would look good with neutral or metallic color shoes but this dress looks like it would be fun to wear so maybe some light blue shoes would make it pop!

Oh my – tomorrow at the market, I’ll be picking up some yummy Popsicles. The weather has been insanely hot! I love that dress, shoes-wise I would go with something like these: http://www.shopbop.com/patent-wham-ankle-strap-sandal/vp/v=1/845524441821357.htm?folderID=2534374302024643&fm=browse-category

I think it would be crazy hot with patent-anything, for sure. Thanks for the lovely comment, Em – have a wonderful day tomorrow!

    xoxoxo

I would wear nude color strappy heels like ones by Jimmy Choo so nothing is taken away from the dress.

  • http://ragamalas.blogspot.com Ragamala

Me, being the boring person I am, would probably just pair the dress with a simple pair of roman sandals!
