Pizzeria Delfina
Pizzeria Delfina is one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco for their near-perfect pizzas, fabulous wine selection and eclectic array of appetizers. I tend to be pretty stubborn when it comes to trying new things, but the pig ears with lime and chili oil were truly life changing. It’s a nice reminder that the safe choice is not always the most fulfilling.

Pig’s ears??! Everything else looks wonderful (especially the pizza), so I guess it makes sense to try them!

Wow, that all looks so good! I think anything would taste good with lime and chili oil ~ I would have eaten those ears up without even thinking
Delfina is one of my favorite places in SF along with Beretta in the Mission–amazing arugula/burrata/prosciutto pizza!!

I love Pizzeria Delfina! And all of the places around it–Tartine & Dolores Park Cafe for a smoothie and sometimes a cobb salad, and all of the delicious pupuserias all along 18th Street. Your post made me miss San Francisco so much.
where is the pizza?
Mmm…I’ll have to remember to go there next time I’m in SF. Great pictures.
You should check out Gialina sometime in Glen Park they have incredible pizzas and desserts too!

Wow…. no pig ears for me, but the rest looks yummy!
If that’s the location on Fillmore, I live 4 blocks from there! Pizzeria Delfina is my some of the best pizza I’ve ever had (even it Italy). My roommates and I go weekly!
I had that same Margherita pizza when I was in town last month and it blew my mind. Wasn’t the crust the best thing you’ve ever tasted?
I love a brave eater! This looks like an incredible meal.

This is just, totally speechless…if I ever happened upon a place that served meat with breadsticks at the bar, they would have to bring in a crane to lift me away…..

wow. i’m not an adventurous eater at all, but those pig ears look delicious.
As good as they look, I would probably only try the pig ears if someone tricked me into eating them.
Your pictures are truly a love letter to San Francisco. I haven’t been there in a while and I’m dying to go now…
Pig ears…I live in the midwest and haven’t heard of them here– but they sound and look amazing!!!

Emily!
Your blog has been a treat to discover. From what I’ve read from your blog so far, your writing/photo journalistic style kinda reminds me of my own! I look forward to reading more of your entries!

I just licked my screen. mmmmm….
Delfina is good. I always wash it down with a scoop of organic Bi-Rite ice cream across the street. Yum! So cool you’re from San Francisco!!
Oooh YUM! All of it!
Ha my fiance just spotted me reading this over my shoulder and was like, ohhhh that looks delicious, we definitely need to eat there!
oh i always love your food photos… good food and good fashion – seriously the best combination. love your blog! xx
wow! Yum. I’m suddenly craving pizza big time!
Yay for Delfina! That intersection of 18th and guerrero is just blocks from my house and on my running route. i never know what’s worse: running in the morning and getting the smells from tartine, or running in the evening and getting the smells of pizza from delfina. not that i’m complaining!
have a happy new year lovely–thanks for all the gorgeous inspiration in 2009
Now I’m hungry after looking at the yummy eats. Never had pig ears before, but I’d give ‘em a try!
That platter looks delicious!
Life-changing, huh? Just might get me to try pigs’ ears after all….
i love delfina! delicious and such a good atmosphere!
hmm, looks delicious!!
MMM this was our first stop when I was in San Francisco this past summer! Soo delicious, and the perfect meal to fend off post-plane hunger pangs.
THIS IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM MY HOUSE!!! So yummy!!! Whenever I am hiouome, my family and I always go there when we are too lazy to cook and want a cozy restaurant with delicious food.
OH this makes me hungry.
I’m ready to get my italian on now :]
Thanks for sharing Emily.
xoxo
I recently had fried pig ears too at the restaurant I work at part-time… I must admit, pretty tasty.
Those pig ears look delicious and right now they are making me hate that I am on the East Coast.
When I am in SF it is one of my favorite places to eat…among many, many god choices. I always go for the broccoli rabe pizza, but I am hoping next time I am there the pig ears will be on the menu. I love trying new things – thanks for the tip!!
