Perfectly Polished

September 3rd, 2010

Every once in a while, I’ll create a nail color combination that’s too good not to share.  Currently on my fingers: OPI’s “Lincoln Park After Dark” with Deborah Lippmann’s “Ruby Red Slippers.”  It’s a bit moody, slightly ominous and morphs from a color that’s black at night to a deep, shimmery red during the day.  In other words, the perfect polish for fall.

  1. Your nails look like marbled end-paper! (A covet for any antiquarian book geek.)

  2. I think that the post about wing-tipped eyeliner should be found in the how-to section of this fashion blog.

  3. that color reminds me of the red and black speckled wool in one of Zac Posen’s dresses!

  6. Your blog is so great! Loved the tips on how to start one. The nail polish is really cute, wish I could paint my nails! Unfortunately, I have to keep polish remover and cotton balls on hand at all times. It usually takes about 4 or 5 re-dos.

  23. I love these colours together, I have been doing this for about 6 months and I love it. I use Black Cherry Chutney by OPI as the dark colour and a drug store red glitter over the top. I get so many comments when I do my nails like this but I don’t think I can get away doing it for the summer (Im in New Zealand so we are about to have summer).
