Cupcakes and Cashmere

Pea Pesto Crostini

March 15th, 2011

I’ve always loved the arrival of spring. The days feel infinitely longer and there’s a lightness in the air that only comes around once a year. I want to savor each moment of sun, so the things I prepare in the kitchen are quick to prepare and full of fresh flavors. I first discovered this recipe for Pea Pesto Crostini around the holidays (seen here) and it’s been a staple ever since. I often find pesto to be overpowering, but this one is subtle and robust at the same time. Plus, it pretty much looks like spring in the form of food, and that never gets old.

    Hi, Emily!

I think that even if these were disgusting, I’d probably still make them solely because they are so pretty.

This part of my personality gets me into trouble from time to time, especially in regards to makeup. What can I say, I’m a sucker for packaging!

Also, congrats to you on three years of Cupcakes and Cashmere—I couldn’t imagine my morning routine without it! : )

    Emily,

As one of a zillion people to tell you this – I love your blog!! I seriously look forward to your posts every morning way over here in NYC :) I had to comment on your pea pesto….I have made a similar dish without crostini, but I absolutely love the idea of taking it from a side dish to an appetizer. I’ll definitely be swiping this! Thanks so much for the post!

    xx Cory
