Party Planning

February 2nd, 2011

When I first announced my engagement, I promised not to turn my site into a wedding blog. I’m sticking to that initial pledge, but couldn’t help but share a few images that I’ve found particularly inspirational. It’s hard to narrow down the exact kind of wedding we want, so I’ve been saving photographs in hopes of discovering reoccurring themes. I’ve made little progress, but have since confirmed that edible party favors, imperfect wild flowers, glittering lights and natural place settings are now all considered necessities.

There’s really no such thing as too many beautiful wedding photos. Love the images of the mixed centerpieces – so lovely. My husband and I got married at Stryker Winery in Sonoma. The setting at Stryker is modern mixed with the natural beauty of the vineyard so we had the florist create various arrangements in square and round vases and then she mixed those together to create centerpieces. It was elegant and contemporary while at the same time being “free-form”. Style Me Pretty has already been mentioned so I’ll just affirm that there are a lot of great ideas on that website. Our wedding was actually featured on SMP. Your event will no doubt be amazing.

    Em,
I realize we’ve never met, (my tweetheart friend) and you probably already know about them, BUT, I feel I must tell you about: The Flashdance (!!!); Sharkpig; Bash, Please; pretty much all of the vendors at the “Hitched” event… I live in Atlanta now (but am actually moving out to LA in a few months!), and had the pleasure of meeting a few of these ridiculously talented team members at the Rue party a couple months ago in ATL. Check out their websites; you won’t be disappointed! I have been married for a few years now already (started early, what can I say), but I constantly go to their websites to get inspiration for parties, etc. I feel like a lot of their events have a similar aesthetic to yours. Ok, enough outta me. I love seeing your wedding ideas, and think we all wouldn’t hate to see more. :) Good luck; enjoy this special time! XO
