Borrowed Bag

August 13th, 2012

Celine Sunglasses, J.Crew Sweater, Equipment Blouse, Proenza Schouler Jeans c/o, Kate Spade Bag, Manolo Blahnik Heels

One of the best things about Mill Valley is the perpetually cool weather that makes it appropriate to layer, even in the middle of summer. I wore this out for lunch and convinced my mom to let me borrow my favorite bags of hers, a really old Kate Spade patent leather purse that’s never felt more current. Unfortunately any trades that I tried to make with her to own it were turned down, so I’ll have to settle for using it only during visits.

Five Things

August 10th, 2012

{A day spent in Malibu that couldn’t have been prettier}

We drove up to Northern California yesterday for Outside Lands and this morning we’re heading over to Golden Gate Park. Despite the fact that it’s warm and sunny outside, my parents insisted that we bring about six extra layers for when it gets chilly in the evening. So if you need a beanie or perhaps some mittens, I’ll be well prepared and am more than willing to share. Looking forward to a weekend filled with great food and music and here are five things I’m loving right now.

{Favorite brunch beverage – Gjelina’s Bloody Beer}

{My new teeny tiny diamond ring}

{Admiring the chocolate chip cookie additions (like candied bacon and banana) at M Street Bakery}

{My glittery striped Calgel manicure that matches my iPhone case perfectly}

Fall Uniform

August 9th, 2012

H&M Top, Doloris Petunia Necklace, Rag & Bone Blazer, J.Crew Pants, Prada Heels, Vintage Clutch

It’s always nice to find an outfit that works well so that you can repeat it with similar pieces, without looking like you’re wearing the same thing for weeks on end. For a cool evening a few days ago, I wore this to dinner and plan to wear some variation of a leather top, crisp blazer, printed pants (I’m obsessed with these) and a statement necklace multiple times this fall.

Strawberry Bonbons

August 8th, 2012

Last week our friends dropped off fresh strawberries that they picked up at a farm stand on the way back from Santa Barbara. They were so sweet and begging to be incorporated into some sort of summertime dessert. I whipped up a batch of homemade strawberry ice cream, which was delicious, but as it turned out, there’s such thing as too sweet. As a way to balance out the flavors, I scooped them into little balls and coated them in a bittersweet dark chocolate shell, otherwise known as bonbons. They were amazing I can’t wait to try out other flavor combinations – next up, peanut butter and then salty caramel.
