Ray-Ban Aviators, T by Alexander Wang Top, Handmade Leather Hair Tie, Gap Pants, Manolo Blahnik Heels, Vintage Clutch

Every once in a while there’s something appealing about a fussy outfit – with multiple layers, various fabrics and a jangling of jewels wrapped around your wrist. But more often than not, I resort to my uniform – skinny jeans, pointy-toe pumps, a slouchy shirt, aviators, and a sleek ponytail. I love that it doesn’t take much effort in the morning, but that the look allows easy alterations, like wearing one color, from head to toe.

Five Things

It’s funny how much of an impact Daylight Saving Time has on my life. Maybe some of it’s just in my head, but I find I’m that much more open to changing my routine. Instead of pouring myself a glass of wine and curling up on the couch at night, I’m outside with my iPad or going for walks around the neighborhood. It’s been tough to get out of bed these past few mornings, but it feels like spring is finally here and I have no complaints. Have a great weekend!

Five Years

March 14th, 2013

Opening1

The anniversary of my blog always sneaks up on me. I feel like I was a kid when I first started it, working long days at a job I didn’t enjoy and then coming home and writing until late at night. Lately I’ve been looking back at some of my earlier posts (which, I’ll admit, are pretty comical), and it’s been nice to get some perspective on how things have changed over the past five years. I think it’s important to acknowledge milestones in life, so here’s a small glimpse of some of the things I’ve done through Cupcakes and Cashmere, both professionally and personally.

Thank you for your support – I’m so appreciative of the community this space has created and love sharing parts of my life with you every day. xx

I constantly come across interesting links online and decided to curate them into a new midweek series. This is obviously nothing revolutionary, but I wanted a new outlet for sharing the articles, items, and people that are inspiring me on a weekly basis. I hope you enjoy!
