There’s so much promise in the start of a new year. It’s one of the only times people examine the things they’d like to change and actively set goals to do so. In regards to fashion, I’ve vowed to only purchase things that I truly love. More often than I’d like to admit, I end up buying things that don’t fit perfectly or that have some minor detail that isn’t quite right. This French Connection dress was my first purchase of 2010 and I couldn’t be happier with its batwing sleeves, short length and comfortable jersey knit.

French Connection always has great dresses. Although, there strapless dresses tend to run really small in the chest. Great pick with that one.

I agree! half my wardrobe is filled with things i never wear, some still in their tags! I think i sometimes tend to buy clothes just for the sake of buying, which is an awful habit because I’m wasting money and precious space in my tiny closet

The dress fits you perfectly. cloe- i love the bag as well, and it looks like it goes with everything. I’m going to try to buy only things i really love this year as well because a lot of times i just end up buying things because they’re in or they’re just great buys not because i want them.

i officially adopted the whole buy what i love/only what fits perfectly philosophy last year after several years of trying, and it has not only made me love my wardrobe even more, but also saved me soooooo much money.
soooooo jealous of your bare legs…it’s 3 degress in upstate ny today. suffice it to say, i’m super-stylish in my wool knee socks and cords. lol
oh, so pretty! i wish it was warm enough here to not wear any stockings with my dress! it’s 20 degrees F and that’s cold!!!

LOVE that dress! That’s definitely a resolution I should adopt, too. All too often I buy things out of the frustration of not finding what I’m looking for, so I settle.

That’s a great resolution to make. It sort of goes hand in hand with a goal I have to really appreciate everything I have and live more in the moment. I think when you only purchase the things you really love, you end up appreciating them that much more.

I’m adopting that New Year’s resolution as well. I’m also going to try to not buy more of the same thing all the time. I have so many skirts all of the same cut. And it ends up feeling like I’m wearing the same thing day in and day out. So I’m going to experiment in the change rooms with new cuts and styles
