Nesting
It seems as though it gets dark these days right around lunchtime and I have an insatiable desire to stay home and nest. My weekend mornings are spent curled up in bed with bottomless cups of coffee and piles of magazines while my nights are filled with movies and candy.

as the comfort goes - i definitely love a semi-fitted sweatshirts (no college sweatshirt please), shawl/scarves, leggings, uggs definitely, layers of clothes (you know how it is in LA where day and night are 20 degrees difference), and if i just lounge around at home, a silk or terry rope will be very nice.
Bubble baths, pumpkin and spice candles, watching movies in bed, reading all my favorite magazines…

Hee hee, glad to see I’m not the only one rocking the Uggs once the weather gets colder- they’re a must on those snowy days where it’s hard to get out of bed, let alone tromp to work or the grocery store or whatever mundane little tasks we have to do even if the world appears to be a big snowglobe.
My comforts?
-Pumpkin Nectarine Home Fragrance Oil from The Body Shop (smells so good!)
-A good fitting, cozy warm coat (being able to haul out my Nanette Lepore jackets this time of year is something I always look forward to!)
-Cuddling up with Husband, the chi’s, and a movie on a cold & snowy day. ♥
It’s Spring here at the moment, and I can’t even remember what comforts me in the Fall/Autumn. It feels foreign to me right now. The things that comfort me in Spring are: icypoles, chilled water and dipping my toes in the ocean.
ugg boots in the morning are the best, along with a blueberry bagel & cream cheese, an oversized sweater, leggings, a mug full of hot apple cider, and a cable knit wool blanket snuggled up on the couch reading a magazine! did i miss anything haha? so warm and toasty, great post :o)

I love candles (blogged about it today) and cardigans with scarves. I’ll be wearing boots(out of necessity) all winter in Michigan so I’m holding out wearing boots for as long as I can
I’ve had this instinct over the last couple of days too! I got this incredibly soft faux lamb’s fur throw from Pottery Barn, and it’s so comfortable!! I could stay curled up in that all day!

it’s so hard to be productive in this weather. i kind of love it. also, i started drinking hot tea again yesterday. winter has struck!
Love this post. When the days are more grey and cool, I like to have eat yummy soup, burn yankee candles, read “can’t put it down” books, and watch romantic movies that have Christmas somewhere in the story (Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, While You Were Sleeping). =)

My super-soft down throw (which my dog can’t resist, so that means I get lots of snuggles!!!), hot bubble baths, big glasses of and cooking up lots of comfort food to be eaten with big glasses of Viognier!
I love sitting by a crackling (real) fire wrapped up in a blanket with a mug of coffee or tea!!

Yup, my Uggs have been out in regular rotation for a couple of weeks now. With more leggings, scarves, and long cardigans.
Love to snuggle up with my extra blankets and comforters, euro shams, my chihuahua, and fuzzy slippers at home. Tea or cafe mochas in the morning make waking up a little better.
Definitely pumpkin spice lattes on long walks, and a cozy blanket on the couch with full control of the DVR. I save up my shows and watch them for hours sometimes…such a guilty pleasure!

I totally feel you. Lately, it is so warm and cozy in my office and cloudy outside I want to go home and sip tea by the fire. I love the Uggs in the morning I do that too and somethimes under my desk at work with my space heater!
i am the same way although i have been enjoying being outside and feeling the holiday bustle pick up…with all the christmas decor beginning to pop up everywhere!

agree. i love myself a big cup of tea with honey, curled up on the sofa with a big blanket eating caramel apples. we finally got the chimney guy to come check out our fire place and make sure it’s OK to use so we’ll be making lots of wood burning fires to sit around soon too… i cannot wait.

What comforts me in the fall are scented candles (hazelnut, apple pie…) and a mug of hot tea.
Love the cozy feel of those photos and words…makes me wish I could curl up in bed wearing Uggs with movies and coffee instead of going to work where I throw my heater out and sprawl out in front of the computer wearing heels. At least I still get coffee!!! I know how you feel though…it’s only been a week or two since Daylight Savings and I’m already over it….I want the daylight back!

I love curling up on the couch under my favorite afghan and watching my favorite TV shows on DVD. So comforting.
I make hot cocoa almost every night these days. Not just hot cocoa though. I bought at Whole Foods this AMAZING cocoa powder, like 70% cocoa from somewhere in S. America. Then warm up low-fat milk and mix in the chocolate. Dash of whipped cream and I’m ready to nest!
Movies in the dark with some fresh popped popcorn. Thats my winter night comfort. Followed with some ice cream of course!
My Pea Coat and Burberry Scarf. Herbal tea. Fires in the fireplace with real wood. Snuggling on the couch with my cats and husband watching November sweeps TV. Baking cookies.

The only difference is that I kind of do both at the same time. I’ll snuggle up in bed with a movie on and flip through my magazines, hehe.
Oh and we can’t forget the cozy pajama bottoms. I almost put them on instantly when I get home.

I’m like a bear that goes into hibernation during winter - I’m right there with you on getting cozy! I have this lavender neck wrap that you heat up in the microwave… its ridiculous. I highly recommend hunting one down.

what makes me happy in the fall? cashmere socks, pashmina scarves, hooded sweatshirts, tea after dinner, wearing slippers at home…so many things:)
my favorite thing to do when the weather gets all cold and crazy is cuddle up on the douch and watch a movie or read a good book - in pretty lingerie, soft cotton leggings, my tall Ugg boots, and a cozy sweater.
(and my pretty white vintage-y looking cotton knit blanket if i’m still cold)

I still wear my Ugg boots, and I don’t care if people hate them, they are just one of my staples for the winter season! In the fall/winter, I love anything Pumpkin flavored, and spending Sundays curled up in sweatpants and sweatshirt, lounging and watching tv all day long. Perfect ending to a cold weekend! Brr!
