Cupcakes and Cashmere

Nectarine and Blackberry Galette

July 6th, 2011

I slipped out to the farmers’ market on Sunday like I always do, but made sure to be in my car by 9am to avoid the oppressive heat that’s suddenly descended upon L.A. As I quickly made my way around the booths, I stocked up on yellow nectarines and plump blackberries, unsure of what I would make with them. After a bit of research, I decided to put them into a rustic tart, one that felt homemade and unfussy. For those that are too intimidated to attempt an entire pie, this recipe will yield perfectly imperfect results; exactly how a summer dessert should be.

Great dessert. I love visiting farmers’ markets too, I am not a great cook or baker (at all!), but somehow I always feel inspired to make delicious things after visiting those markets :-)

This looks like the perfect summer treat. I love that it’s small. Something bigger would be too dangerous for me. And I know that from experience.

I made the tart out of peaches and raspberries – it was so good! It’s going to be one of my go-to desserts now. Thanks for sharing the recipe :)

This looks so delicious, rustic, and easy! This is very similar to a Brie Tart I make: http://theonlinegrapevine.com/kasey/03122010-spring-fever-part-three-leg-of-lamb-orzo-salad-brie-tart-recipe. It’s a lot like your tart but with brie! Enjoy!
