My Funny Valentine

February 13th, 2009

Even if Valentine’s Day is technically a Hallmark Holiday, how can anyone be against the celebration of love?  Each year, I make dozens of cards from scratch and enjoy every moment of the process.  In fact, Tuesday’s lunch hour was spent browsing in Paper Source where I stocked up on glitters, papers and pens.  Though I’m no Martha Stewart, I think my friends and family enjoy getting a little handmade treat each February 14th.

Polka dots, a wallpaper-esque print and tons of sparkle make for good materials.

How darling are these miniature clothes pins?

A wax seal in the shape of a heart is subtly romantic.

Just a few of my final creations.

I hope you all have wonderful weekends.  I’ll be back on Tuesday!

Your cards are amazing! You could sell them…
I love the wax seals, I’ve always wished I had a family crest so I could get a personal seal. How cool would it be if you got a letter sealed with wax? — Very Hogwarts-esque.

Aww these are so sweet! When I ‘make’ cards, I just design something on the computer and print it out… this seems so much more rewarding!

Whoa, you’ve left me speechless….I’m inspired by that creativity and those gorgeous cards. I’m a sucker for wax seals, and the symbolism associated with them, and the love heart ones are insanely awesome!

I’d be happy just to love heart wax seal everything in sight :)
