My Boyfriend’s Back
As a child, one of the worst insults is to be called a nerd. Well, at least it was for me (looking back, my massive retainer, uni-brow and baseball hat didn’t help matters much). Oddly enough, dorky chic has somehow evolved into an up and coming fad as seen here, here and here (notice that the glasses are sold out!). Since my vision is nearly perfect, I won’t be sporting any plastic lenses, but will be relying on boyfriend cardigans, inspired by the timeless Mister Rogers.
1. Cashmere Keepsake Cardigan, J.Crew: $188
2. Grosbee Cardigan, Paul & Joe Sister: £108
3. Color Block Cardigan, Old Navy: $25
4. Men’s Prep Stripe Cardigan, Fred Flare: $66
5. Eliana Boyfriend Cardigan, dELiAs: $49.50
6. Boiled Cut Away Cardigan, James Perse: $475
7. Gwyneth Cardigan, Theory: £125
Tune in this weekend when I’ll be posting some fun pictures from a little excursion planned for tomorrow!

boyfriend cardigans are the best. i’m lounging in one right now, it’s keeping me warm, and i can also wear them with jeans to work.
Adore. i especially love the cowl neck on #2
I’m the biggest dweeb around, and I don’t care. I love all these sweaters, but mostly #6!
Awww…let your geek flag fly girl!
Love these boyfriend cardigans.
Love number 1! I’ve been living in my Mr. Roger’s cardigan since you helped me pick it out at Martin + Osa. I can’t believe how addictive it is!
love #3 and 7.
why is my favorite one always the most expensive one? aaarrgg!!
i like 1, 2 , 7. only to figure out these 3 are the most pricely, darn it. : ) have a wonderful friday.
Linked you again! Thanks for the cute sweater suggestions!
oooh #3 and 6 for me!
It figures that my favorite one is #6 at $475.
Hello neighbor! Love all your selections here, especially #5!
xoxox,
CC
Mr Rogers was totally my neighbor! I think my favorite top 3 are already ranked…J Crew, Paul & Joe Sister, then Old Navy. yummmm cashmere sounds really nice right now =)
I LOVE boyfriend cardigans,
I’m forever searching for the perfect one.
Have a great weekend sweets x
Though I know the color would look pukey on me, I adore the J Crew one—-especially those big buttons. The button is such an underrated fastener and that sweater gives it the attention it deserves
Figures I’d be drawn to the MOST expensive of the pack – that James Perse sweater is amazing.
I used to love watching Mr. Rogers as a kid.
Aw nostalgia!
Lovely cardigan picks. I like #1 and #6 best.

Have a lovely weekend, can’t wait to read up on the excursion!
Hi there-a great post and I adore this trend so much! I was lucky to score a black merino wool boyf cardi on saturday for only £3-similiar to number 7, but long sleeved!!
and of course, my favorite is number 6…darn it all James Pearse.
That collar on the James Perse cardi is amazing! It looks so comfy and perfect to snuggle in!
i love that you keep posting mustard! enjoy your weekend, emily! xo
I love the james perse sweater! so cute!
I bought #3, but ended up taking it back because I have basically nothing to wear with it.
hahahahaha….
i’ve got some nerdy glasses
and i LOVE them!
I’ve been reaching for my cashmere cardis for the last few days. But they’re fitted and lean and I’m really in the mood for a cuddly one like some of these . . .
mmmmmm the yellow’s and the stripes! love!
I love that I write a budget blog, but when ever looking at items in a mag or blog I always like the most expensive item the best! Totally applies to this post. I love the heather gray!
Hey-la, hey-la! I heart the yellow one and the James Perse one.
Just bought one from the Gap yesterday!
Yes, yes and yes, they are FANTASTIC!!
wow. #6 is to die for. why do we always fall for the most expensive ones? WHY!!!
love,
the.ramonas
These kind of cardigans are chic and SO comfy (at least mine is!)… Love the first one!
#6 is pretty rad. One of my favorite things to do when I really REALLY want something is to make it myself. I actually have some cream thin corduroy material that i will sew to get this look….but i have decided to turn it into a vest…Thanks for the inspiration!
I think this might be my favorite trend this season. This and ruffles.
my vote goes to no. 6. That’s mighty cute!
some great picks. I love numbers 3 and 6.
darn you james! Why do you tempt me the way you do!!! Oh and Emily you are equally guilty…xxoo
loving this trend!
Cardigans are a definite weakness of mine. I can never have enough! These are so cute!!
