Morning Reboot
August 25th, 2011
Coach Trench, Vintage Brooch, Anthropologie Tank, Kate Spade Skirt, Michael Kors Watch, Vintage + Dannijo Bracelets, Miu Miu Heels
You know those mornings when you wake up and you just feel off? That was me yesterday. In high school, my friend and I used commiserate about the same thing and thought that it was best not to even try to look presentable (which, back then, meant sparkly eyeliner and butterfly clips in our hair). I’ve since changed my stance and believe that a few tweaks (like throwing on heels and a trench coat to go out for coffee) can change everything around by mid-morning.

That skirt is gorg!
I know exactly what you mean! Some people go to track pants and sweatshirts on their ‘off’ days, but I feel like spending a little extra time on my appearance boosts my mood really quickly.

Love your skirt!

You remind me of Carrie from Sex and the City! Not so much looks but moreso your style/lifestyle and the fact that you’re both writers in your own right.

Butterfly clips? I remember those. Trench coats are perfect right now, because some days it’s chilly and you need a nice cover. I agree with one of the commenters saying that you remind me of Carrie from Sex and the City, but your hair is much nicer.

I love your blog so much. You are an inspiration!!I’ve just recently started blogging myself. We all know the mornings when we are a bit off and I agree with you, that if you make a small effort and put something nice on, everything gets much better. And coffee rules!
i loooove this look! so chic and sophisticated! <3

I should give that philosophy a shot…whenever I feel terrible, I don’t shower, and then I feel even worse

Oh, Emily, love the combination of everything! That second photo is stunning.

This is just the perfect outfit for going out to coffee! I love the simplicity; it looks utterly classy
Knowing me, I’d probably throw on some red lipstick if I was feeling up to it, but you pull off the nude makeup very nicely!
