Cupcakes and Cashmere

Lovely Loo

October 28th, 2008

When it comes to interior decorating, bathrooms are one of most over-looked areas of the home.   Attention is always paid to kitchens and dining rooms, but bathrooms can also be places of stylish serenity and not just dumping grounds for used Q-tips and zit creams.

Farm vases, $1.99 each – I own three of these Jonathan Adler-inspired white vases.   I never feel pressured to keep them filled with flowers since they’re so pretty on their own.

Diptyque Figuier Candle, $60 – I like Diptyque candles for their classic design, fragrant smells and serious burning time.

Monique Round Tray, $60 – The vintage-inspired pattern and unique, circular shape make this the perfect stage for arranging little treasures.

Rosebud Salve, $6 -  I slather this soothing balm on my lips, but it also helps dry cuticles and is an excellent tamer for stray eyebrows.

Who’s the Fairest Mirror, $148 -  The brass twigs of this dainty mirror lend such a nature-inspired element.

Molton Brown Rose Granati Hand Wash and Cream, $25 – Usually rose-scented things are too sweet for me, but the combination of pomegranite, ginger and black pepper make this simply irresistable.

Silver Woods Canister, $28 -  This little jar is such a charming way to store odds and ends like cotton balls or earrings.

Marvis Classic Strong Toothpaste, $8.50 – Brushing your teeth is made all the more enjoyable with this fun tube of toothpaste in a dangerously minty flavor.

What do you keep in your bathroom to make it more inviting?

The vases sure look pretty! In a way, they remind me of my geometric watch – both are minimalistic but nevertheless striking.

Thank you for finding yet another way to indulge my obsession with Jonathan Adler-esque ceramics…and that mirror is such a trip! You’ve done a terrific job of recreating that C.O. Bigelow old-school apothecary feel. A beautifully edited selection!

I wish I had space in my tiny bathroom for some of these things, particularly that mirror. I would have to take over D’s counter, though, and I’m not sure he’d be into it. : (

I love the little silver jar! So cute! You’re so right Emily – bathrooms are often forgotten. I’m always surprised to see a perfectly accessorized bathroom…it doesn’t happen very often. Have a great day! x
