Little Dreams

March 25th, 2010

It’s difficult to remember my thought processes back from when I was a young girl.  My loftiest dreams involved how many times I could swivel a hoola hoop around my hips and little else held much importance.  Times have changed, but it’s fun to recollect some of the simple things that I hoped for as a child.

1.  Freckles.
2. A tree house (preferably with electricity).
3. An older brother.
4. To win a huge stuffed animal from the carnival.
5. A cupboard stocked with sugary cereals.
6. A water bed.
7. To wear glasses/retainer/braces
8. Powerwheels.
9. To jump rope more than 500 times in a row.
10. To successfully bake something in my Suzy Homemaker Oven.

What did you wish for as a kid?

I grew up in Cuba during this communist regime. Needless to say, I didn’t have much of anything and we couldn’t go to stores to shop because there was nothing to buy. My family that lived here in the US used to send me very cute stuff but once in a while and sometimes I didn’t really like what I got. I always wished I could go to the store and buy MY own things. Like in the american movies – I used to be obsessed with Pretty in Pink. So, one day I dreamed I was in an american store – now I think it looks like KMart… LOL. That was one of my most divine dreams ever. I loved it! Didn’t want to wake up.
Maybe that’s why I shop so much… so much that I became a personal shopper. I love it!

I wanted red hair, freckles, glasses, braces, and a cool school uniform (luckily since I was home schooled I could just buy my own school uniform!)

Glad to hear I wasn’t the only little girl who longed for freckles, glasses, and braces!

I spent many eyelash wishes on getting boobs that were smaller than my sister’s. And they came true!

Oh, how I love this post!
I wanted braces, too. And I was so jealous that my sister got some that when we went to the dentist with her I made the doctor look at my teeth, too to explain that I need some as well! Oh dear :D
But what I really always wanted was to be able to fly. How often was I lying one my bed with the eyes closed, imaging I was flying over the roofs of our little town.
    * having gold coins (like Pippi Langstrumpf) to be able to buy what ever I wanted, especially candy
*having three magic wishes and with the third one I would wish for more wishes!
    *a puppy
    * working at a grocery store (oh dear, haha)
    * and living with my mummy and daddy for the rest of my life
