Have you ever seen someone wear something and it looks so utterly fabulous on them that you simply must try it for yourself?

Here is my inspiration.
Naomi, of the amazing blog, Rockstar Diaries, is almost always wearing shades of red on her lips and somehow makes it look glamorous and casual all at the same time (I dare you not to become completely addicted to her blog). So, for my dinner date the other night, I threw some on. Besides the smudges all around my chin (oh and the fact that I looked like Ronald McDonald after my first bite of salad), it immediately transformed my entire look and attitude. At least for a night.

When I decide to wear red lipstick I leave the house feeling very confident but then within half an hour I become so self conscious… Also, I haven’t found a lipstick that stays on well enough yet… Any suggestions?
I’ve tried many times red or bold colors on my lips but I always looks bad..I prefer lipglosses or natural shades, but you look great makes me wanna g oout and but the classic red chanel lipstick!!

When I worked at a cosmetics counter in college, I wouldn’t go anywhere without lipstick and especially went bold behind the counter. These days, I’m lucky if I soften my lips with a little balm! This might be just the inspiration I need.

I need to find the right shade for me… I just cleaned out my lipstick “collection” and culled most of mine bc they just didn’t work (and some were a bit old). I did re-find a great stain and some gloss, so I think that’s going to be my go to for now.
Way to try new colors! And when did you go darker (lowlights?) underneath? — seriously cute + rockin! (Um, hopefully that sounded more friendly + not so much stalker-esque … hee!)

That’s so funny! I was reading her blog yesterday morning as well and decided to rock some red lipstick again. It was dreary and raining and I just needed something to lift up my look a bit. Every now and then I go for it, but it’s so bold I always feel like it doesn’t look right on me. I also love fuschia lipstick!

Very pretty! I love fiery red lips and it makes you feel a lot more chic or dressed up! It can take some getting used to for yourself but it looks good on almost everyone.

i’d absolutely love to, but need to figure out a shade that works for me. i’ve got a tendency to go pink when i’m too hot/cold, and adding bold red lipstick just accentuates it.

You have the right skin tone for the red lips. I think that is a huge part of the red lipstick puzzle. My lips have a very definitive shape to them, and they look like Kate Winslet’s with red lipstick. Not a great combination.

I love red lipstick! My favorite way to wear it is with casual clothing…to dress it up!
I love red lips on blondes, it always looks tasteful and not as trashy as you might think. My problem is I don’t like my lips all that much to emphasize them to that degree but I do wear red on occassion still

I actually branched out in the deep red shade not too long ago and love it!! I am a nude lip gloss kind of girl, so it was definitely a leap! But it makes me feel fantastic! Naomi’s red lips have often tempted me to give red a try as well! I just haven’t found the right shade. Keeping the rest of the makeup light makes the look work - and it looks great on you.

You look so sophisticated and sleek. Might I recommend Ben Nye’s Russian Red. I love MAC’s version, but man, red lipstick is probably the best investment I made to my wardrobe!! it transforms my whole attitude. you should definitely wear the red more often. It looks gorgeous on you!!!
