In an attempt to beat the heat this weekend, my boyfriend and I planned a last-minute trip to San Diego.  Though we were greeted with almost identical weather, the ocean breeze was a nice relief from the smoke-laden air (most of Southern California is up in flames).

After a quick breakfast at Urth, we headed to the world famous San Diego Zoo, where I spent the majority of my day hopping between snack bars.  Turns out, Icees are far more appealing than churros when it’s above 90°.

Following a refreshing dip in the hotel’s rooftop pool, we headed over to the Gaslamp Quater for dinner.  After walking several blocks full of bars and eclectic restaurants, we decided on Cafe Sevilla, for their Spanish tapas and intimate atmosphere.

LOVE YAYA Top, Betsey Johnson Blazer, Forever 21 Hoops,  H&M Cropped Trousers, Seychelles Platforms, Foley + Corinna Bag

Since the weather stayed warm into the night, it was the perfect time to whip out my new H&M trousers that I’ve been itching to wear. Cropped just above the ankle, they’re a fun alternative to jeans and surprisingly even more comfortable.
