Lie In The Sound
Every time I visit New York, I’m blown away by the energy of the city. At all hours of the night, there’s an electricity that simply can’t be found in other places that I’ve visited. My trip was an exciting whirlwind of fashion-related events and blogger meet-ups, but I still managed to squeeze in some quiet time just for myself. Despite its reputation as “the city that never sleeps,” I can always find comfort in fresh baked goods and a soft snow fall.

{I loved to work while it snowed outside. It was so peaceful.}

I love the city! Great images
Can’t wait to see what that picture was that you’re working on.
I have the same laptop, and it’s what PSS is powered by! Lovely breakfast shot, now my stomach is growling.
I am new to your blog and I’m so, so happy I discovered it when I did because attending Fashion Week is my dream, and at least I got to experience it vicariously through you.
i absolutely love these pictures – i’m from new york and these totally encapsulate home in the winter!

In my thirty-eight years of living in and around NYC, I still find it the most exciting and inspiring place ever. Glad you enjoyed it.

fun photos! this just makes me want to visit NYC so badly!
That’s the same reason I fell in love with the city. I had no idea I could love a place as much if not more than a person.
i love new york so much. these photos evoke such a genuine feeling of the city! and i also love dessert after breakfast. xo
Gorgeous photos! Those hanging marshmallows are wonderful!
i have a sweet tooth too.

I can tell you’re neat and tidy, no folders on your desktop! haha. I have the same laptop, but your background image is so pretty! It’s Ironic, NYC snow falling in the background with a warm/bright Summer pic
Beautiful.
this is such a lovely post!
Hi Emily,
I’ve been reading your blog for about 3 weeks now and I’m hooked. It’s one of the first things I check every morning. Your posts are great and the pictures are fabulous. I’m new to the world of blogging, and you are a great inspiration.
I’m looking to upgrade my camera, to something more ‘professional’ if you will. I’m wondering what kind of camera you use to take your shots?
Thnx,
A http://www.amandalconquer.blogspot.com
Beautiful photos! You’re right! The city definitely has a certain “magic” to it! Are you sure you don’t want to relocate to NYC?
beautiful photos…they have a lovely sense of peace and quiet:)
Such gorgeous snaps.
Glad I’m not the only one who has dessert after breakfast sometimes. ; )
Love New York!
Those are beautiful pictures. I love the way the colors on the screen pop against the snow through the window. Amazing! Everyone, and I mean everyone, should consider having dessert for breakfast.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Your snapshot is delightful!

I occasionally eat dessert instead of breakfast…these are beautiful photos.

Really nice images — I live in the city, but sometimes it takes someone else’s perspective for me to truly appreciate it
Glad you enjoyed!
I love NYC so much. It has been way too long since my last visit.
So many good things. You make me miss New York.
These pictures are great. I love having dessert.. maybe even after breakfast =)
The hanging marshmellows is very interesting. What an idea! Next time I throw a hot cocoa party, I think I will have to steal it.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing your NYC pictures. It makes me want to go for a visit asap! It looks like you had a blast!

love desert after breakfast. In LA you must try Huckleberry’s on Wilshire and like… 11th? in SAMO. It’s divine and seems right up your alley. I can’t go there for a coffee and pastry without getting another mini pastry (usually in the form of doughnut holes) as well. It’s dangerous.
there’s something so beautiful about the way snow clings to bare trees.
sometimes dessert is the perfect and most quintessential first meal of the day … and hanging marshmallows? icing on the proverbial (breakfast) cake.
I love o take some time for myself when I travel too…it’s the best way to get a feel for a city and to really soak in the experience. I’m jealous of your NYC adventures!
Your photos are amazing! I am really in a New York state of mind now!

This post made me very hungry and in need of some cuddling! We never get “fun” weather like this in LA!

aw, i love that you have dessert after breakfast!
Fantastic photos! Nice to get a more intimate look at the city rather than the typical tourist pictures. I have to get back to New York soon *sigh*
Those hanging marshmallows are divine looking! All these pictures look SO cozy.
i agree with all above ~ great photos. they all look so beautiful and i was imagining i was there, too.
I live in Chicago, where we get A LOT of snow. Its cold and its wet and I absolutely love it. Its somehow magically peaceful.

I <3 dessert after breakfast. If you think about it, it makes sense because you have more time to burn it off as opposed to eating dessert after dinner! http://www.hautelatte.com

I really LOVE your blog. I’ve been reading it everyday since I first found it on the bloggies award website…thank you so much for your effort, dedication and passion in keeping this blog so fun, enjoyable and inspiring…have a great weekend!

Such gorgeous pictures. The dessert pic looked so yummy, it made me want some so much. I’m glad you’re having a great time in NYC. I love the energy there too. Even though I’ve never been, I can feel it through every picture, every film, and story that I see/hear. I can’t wait to go there. And hopefully, I’ll have that opportunity next year during Fashion Week.
That was the lovely view that I saw from my hotel room too! I did venture out into the snow to go across the street and work at the ‘bucks. I went a little stir crazy.
Fab photos!
Great pictures! I love NYC!

Hi Emily!
You’ve mentioned how you worked at Domino and Teen Vogue before and working for a fashion magazine is my absolute dream. I’m a Freshman at California State University San Bernardino and I was wondering what steps you took to get those jobs, and if you have any tips for how I should try to break in the same business?
Thank you so much!
-Lexx :]
I love NY
I’ve only been twice briefly and would love to go back. No worries, I too had dessert for breakfast today… a gorgeous raspberry custard tart, mmmm! xxx
Dessert after breakfast sounds magical!
I adore these snapshots of your trip! I love NYC and live too close to not be there more often…I want to visit the lovely cafes you’ve featured <3
How pretty!
Aww, looks like you had fun! The snow is so pretty and peaceful (although as a resident of the northeast, no more, mother nature, if you don’t mind. thanks bunches).

Beautiful images! Snowfall is always so peaceful, its post snowfall mush that makes us Canadians wish we had the sun year round
I love city bakery! Ate there for lunch many times during my summer internship. The chocolate chip cookies are pure heaven.
I’m a firm believer in dessert after every meal, so I’m glad to hear that you like breakfast dessert!
Also, that iced latte makes me want to go to Starbucks, although I know they have nothing that amazing there.
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L pics!!! Captured everything perfectly!!! What type of camera are you using? Really gorgeous quality!

oh how i miss my native NY…sounds like you had a blast..welcome back to 80 degree weather
No wonder Le Pain Quotidiene sounded familiar.. I’ve been to the one in Sydney a few weeks ago..their iced coffee with a scoop of ice cream was so yummy
but i don’t think the sydney based store serves Jane’s Iced Latte. It must be a regional thing. :/
