Lemon Meringue Pie
I have an insatiable craving for dessert when the weather turns brisk and it’s certainly no coincidence that my last two food posts have revolved around my favorite meal (here and here). This past weekend I convinced my mom to bake a pie with me so that she could pass along some of her secrets for consistently flaky crusts and excellent fillings. I would never go as far to say that pumpkin is an overrated fall flavor, but there’s something unexpected about a lemon meringue pie that’s so perfect in October.
Do you have a dessert you look forward to most during the holiday season?

That looks delicious! I look forward to my mom’s bite-sized pecan pies. Can’t wait to make them this holiday season.
Ooooh I love lemon meringue. That looks delish. x
Yummmmi
Oh, that looks really good ! I don’t really have any fall deserts, though my mum makes all kinds of apple deserts
STEAMED TREACLE PUDDING, and this year I want to make it, not buy it.
i wanted to make this very same tarte au citron meringue! nice surprice!
Oh Gosh, you always make me so hungry with your amazing food.
Love the blog!
Yum-O-licious!
Looks delicious! But, pumpkin and apple pies will always be my favorites.
I could never quite get into custard pies — I completely ♥♥ fruit pies though! Cherry and rhubarb are usually my favorite through the summer, and I like apple pies with vanilla ice cream in the fall!!
I’m not a big fan of pie, and I especially dislike pumpkin. I like pies that are a little less like pie – like peanut butter pie. I prefer cookies during the holidays.
Your pie looks delicious though.
It’s almost pie season! My family makes twelve pies for thanksgiving (I have no idea why we started making so many, but now it’s tradition!), and I can’t wait. Your post is making me even more excited than I was before!
I love lemon meringue!!!
Kisses
Mmm! I made an apple pie over the weekend, but I do love lemon. Great idea for the holidays!

when my mom makes lemon meringue pie, the meringue is all spiky and gorgeous. i think maybe like looking at it even better than eating it!!!
i used to hate lemon, but it’s been my number one pregnancy craving – that pie looks amazing! i love moms.
Looks positively delicious! I love lemons! My favorite dessert is definitely apple pie – it is the quintessential dish of fall in my mind!
I can’t get enough of pumpkin-pie-flavored stuff … but it’s the actual pie itself I crave most. A friend and I are going to make a few pies from actual pumpkins next weekend!
Looks great, makes me wish I had a good grater like that. Would make getting lemon zest a snap. We have a zester. It causes carpal tunnel syndrome.
Apple cake
i always want to like this pie…but every time i try it i take a bite realize i hate it. this time of year i look forward to anything with pumpkin in it! yum!
I made zucchini bread the other day, sooo good. I think I’m going to continue with pumpkin bread, banana bread and any other fall-spiced breads I can think of…
I love apple pie, zucchini bread, banana bread, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin pie. Mmmmmmmmmmm!
Check out all my designer shoes at http://www.fashionsnag.com!
Your Mom’s pie looks sooo goooood! My Mom makes the absolute yummiest bread pudding, it’s different every time because she uses different artisanal breads and sometimes fruits. She is such a sweetheart too, because she still makes it for me even though she found out that she’s allergic to gluten and dairy and can’t eat it herself.
That pie looks so yummy! My mom just made homemade apple pie this week and my pictures aren’t nearly as lovely as yours. Also I love that you wanted to learn–I should have done the same. ; )
oh wow, that looks sooooo good! i keep wondering why you have a great figure. any workout tips? “:D

i want to follow you but i can’t find where to do that. HELP! I love your blog!
When it turns grey out, I love baking sour cream coffee cake, which accompanies my coffee almost every morning in the fall months. As far as winter/Christmas is concerned, though, I still need to find a staple recipe.
My favorite fall treat to make is pumpkin cookies with white chocolate chips and macademia nuts. So good!
this is my uncle’s favorite pie…aside from apple pie and because it was his birthday last week we just had some lemon meringue pie. it sounds lovely…i’m taking advantage of learning everything from my mom right now…all those secret techniques its a wonderful idea!
That looks really good. Not too much meringue
How do you do it?! It looks so delicious and perfect!
Not a big pie fan but that looks delicious.

This looks soo yummy!
I’m going to have to go with the classic answer of pumpkin pie. Although I do really love thumbprint cookies!
A lemon meringue pie in fall is so unexpected and fantastic. Your photos are gorgeous–just as good as some of the best food blogs out there.
Lemon meringue is my absolute favorite. It’s my birthday pie every year.

that pie looks delicious! I love lemon and I love lemon meringue pie! I actually don’t like pumpkin pie very much, though I do love pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks and other pumpkin baked goods. I don’t know if I have a favorite fall dessert but maybe I should find one! I have been wanting to bake some cupcakes…

Just browsing some posts that I’ve missed while I’ve been away. But I had to stop at the Lemon Meringue Pie post to comment! Looks so delish!! I have to make a couple desserts for Thanksgiving this year and I might have to do a meringue. I’ve never done one before but it’s unexpected for Thanksgiving, so I think it could be a big hit. That, and my pumpkin pie:)
Looks deeeelish! Believe it or not I have never eaten lemon meringue.
Looks delicious. This past summer my mom taught me her lemon meringue pie also. It would be totally unexpected to have in Fall, but I like your thinking…
Delicious looking pie there! Girl of many talents!
I made key-lime pie just the other day. Looks like lemon meringue is next! xo
