Lemon Curd Crepes

January 8th, 2013

I love how certain foods can transport you to a different time and place. Gelato will always take me back to our honeymoon in Italy, the same way that plantains remind me of warm afternoons in Costa Rica. People always talk about crepes that way – the memory of finding a small café on a cobbled side street in Paris by following the scent in the air.  I’ve never been, so in the meantime, I’ve fashioned my own interpretation with lemon curd crepes at home. You don’t need any fancy equipment or even a ton of time (our filling came straight from a jar), which was a welcomed surprise. I’m sure they’re a far cry from the ones you find in France, but until I get to experience the real thing, these will have to do.

That’s the spirit! :) And you are so right about how food -and in general, anything triggering one of the fifth senses- can transport you somewhere else. These look delish! xoxo

I have to comment on this one! I consider myself the queen of crepes (at least at my place! :p). They taste amazing, I even bake crepe cake sometimes (like a tower of crepes with some sort of jam between each one of them and covered with condensed milk or whipped cream – there’s a picture on my blog here: http://thevetgirl.blogspot.pt/2012/03/delicia-deliciaassim-voce-me-mata.html) but filling them with lemon curd has never crossed my mind! How dumb of me, we always have lemon curd at home! This is a great idea! Thanks!

Lemon crêpes are my favourite!! I normally make them with lemon juice instead of lemon curd (lazy as I am to buy it…), but I lived in Paris and they actually make them with lemon curd (or sort of)!

Lovely blog Emily, congratulations for the hard work!

  • Anne-Laure

As a French girl, I can tell you that your “crêpes” look delicious!! But, you absolutely have to come to Paris to taste it (and doing a signing session!!) Xx
