{Floating vase (tutorial here): perfect for kittens that love flowers}
Since I’ve shown glimpses of nearly all of the rooms in my place (like my closet, guest room, office and living room), I decided to snap a few photographs of my kitchen yesterday before preparing dinner. I spend an inordinate amount of time in there and wanted to create a space that I truly loved. It’s become the center of our place, both literally and figuratively – where guests come for a glass of wine and where my fiancé and I prepare meals while listening to music. I tried to take into account all the elements that would make for an aesthetically pleasing, yet functional, space and here are some of the things I’ve implemented since we moved in.
{View from the dining room}

{Anthropologie bowls make fruit more appealing}

{Knives kept on the wall save counter space and look industrial}
{A chalkboard that’s perfect for leaving notes}
{Hanging pans fill an empty space over the stove}

{Squeeze bottles filled with olive oil and grape seed oil + different salts}

{Ikea canisters that hold a variety of tools}
{An iPod dock for playing music while cooking or cleaning}

love the knife display!!! scary yet beautiful
You have such a beautiful kitchen! I used to not be into interior design but your blog got me into it! I can’t wait to furnish my own place someday.

I love your kitchen. It is so cute. Wish I could decorate my kitchen similar your’s but I don’t have the space. My kitchen very, very small and no bare walls. But just wanted to say your’s is beautiful.

We have the same salt mill and similar ways of keeping our kitchen essentials organized. I took pictures of my space yesterday and was going to do a post about our interior this weekend. Too funny! I love the maldon salt and a big container to put all the tools into. I think you’ve made the most of your kitchen. Tile is tough though. We had tile in our last place and it was so tough to keep sparkling. I am in love with the granite we inherited this time around! Your chalboard idae is sensational. Very cute. Sensible organization going on here! Love! ;D

It’s definitely smart to keep an iPod dock in the kitchen…I should move mine out of the bathroom so I can listen to music next time I cook! I also love how you have the knives on the wall

Love those Anthropologie bowls and your chalk board!
absolutely love your place!
I love the black and white cat figurines next to your countertop utensils. So cute, and they match the subway tiles and the vintage countertop tiles so nicely. Also, lovely Anthro bowls! I am a huge fan of unique, patterned bowls (I have more than I need dotting my kitchen counters and shelves!).
The floating vase is really cool! I can’t wait until I buy my own house to be as creative as I want!

absolutely love these ideas, your kitchen looks great!
The simplicity of your kitchen is great! I love how you’ve worked with the space to make something stylish and functional – what you lack in cupboard or counter tops you’ve totally made up for using the walls and it’s awesome.
The chalkboard is a great addition and really helps pick-up the cool floors. You probably purchased this one, but they’re actually really simple to make on your own too! All you need in an old frame and some chalk-board paint.
Thanks again for sharing!
I love your kitchen, do you by chance live in a Donovan Home?
Where did you get your champagne glass? I’ve been looking for some just like the one shown in the last picture..
Thanks!
