June Gloom
Every year, at the beginning of summer, Los Angeles enters a paradoxical phase called “June Gloom.” Overcast, damp mornings are met with blazing afternoons, which makes getting dressed in the morning slightly challenging. Rather than sulking in multiple dreary layers, candy-colored heels add an unexpected pop of color to your feet that will certainly brighten up any gray morning.

I love the Marni and Topshop picks. I just love being able to wear open toes in the summer time so I wear heels pretty much everyday because November through March we are covered in snow!

We don’t get the June Gloom around these parts, but I’m still right on your wavelength: I’m OBSESSED with brightening up my shoe wardrobe. All those blacks and browns are too dreary.
They’re all pretty (and useful) in their own ways. I love the GAP ones- I have been eying them for weeks! The Kate Spade & Castaners are great too!

When I first moved to LA, I scoffed at the notion of June Gloom and didn’t think it was true. Now I hate it!! Fab picks! I love the Topshop shoes because the mint green is such an original color and one that we don’t see often for shoe colors!

weird, i never heard of june gloom! i’m wearing a striped turtleneck, jean jacket and black pants with boots today to give you some idea of how chilly it can be this time of year in new england. but i love it as long as its sunny and blue skying. back to shoes, i love the marni pair but think the gap option would fit into my wardrobe more readily.

So cute, Em:) I love 1, 3, and 6 the best. These days I’m not really wearing heels though. It feels weird because I’m pretty short to begin with, but I just can’t be bothered with this growing belly. I’m doing lots of cuffs and flats and hoping it looks cute;)

It’s funny, I shop for bathing suits when it’s cold/rainy out. I just got one yesterday. It’s bright yellow with stripes — very cute! It boosted my spirits on these crappy California rainy days!
