My week-long stay at the Westin in Ka’anapali was pure bliss and though it was my first legitimate vacation since I graduated from college, I learned some invaluable lessons:
1. I was never a rum fan prior to my trip, but I’ve since realized that a post-breakfast daiquiri is a great way to start the day.
2. Don’t check work email. This proved to be almost as relaxing as the deep tissue massage I got at the spa. Well, almost.
3. Dessert tastes way better when ordered through room service and eaten in bed.
4. Score early seats at the adult pool. No matter how tempted I was to hit the water slide, a soundtrack of babbling brooks and crashing waves was far more enjoyable than screaming kids.
5. Take note of the things that bring me joy and try to replicate once home. I loved eating outside and am now motivated to convert our dumping ground balcony into a romantic little cove for having dinner.

this looks amazing!!!!!!!! so glad you had such a good time!!! xoxo joanna
These photos are fabulous! As if I expected anything less from you. What a trip!
You and your boyfriend are just way too cute! You look simply amazing…makes me want to exercise right now:)
Yes, before marriage and the baby carriage, take vacations, take naps, and take pictures. Of the abs. That’s what I’d want to remember if I were you. So glad you’re back!

augh, it looks like such a fantastic trip! i’d love to hit up hawaii at some point in my life. maybe even move there. (ha!) i’d laze around on the beach and collect seashells to sell to landlocked suckers like myself.

I’m going to move to Hawaii someday. Probably in the next year or so. But to Oahu, where there are more job opportunities…
You made me totally miss Hawaii all over again.
i grew up on Maui. I know the westin hotel very well. spent my teenage years running a muck and getting kicked out. maui is magical. missing it an awful lot looking at your photos.
How totally romantic!!!
Hey! I thought I’d direct a follow-up recommendation to you, since your first for Delfino/Bi-Rite Creamery in San Fran was such a hit- I just showed the hubs the websites for both- he’s totally stoked! After San Fran, we’re actually heading to Maui (very funny- staying at the Westin there too- for 5 nights) and then to Kauai for 3…was wondering if you had any recommendations on food/sights in Maui. I clearly love your taste & would love your input. I understand if you’re busy getting back to work/blogging, but any info would be so great! Also, if you have any suggestions for good things around the Westin/things you didn’t like, I’d also be interested to hear. I’m leaving on Friday morning…yay! : )
Love the purple and red dresses! Hope you had a wondeful time! I work right next door to the Westin on Kaanapali Beach ( at the Marriott ) and surf Kaanapali Point all the time. Looks like you were dining at Tropica (?) Love their Lilikoi phyllo wrapped cheesecake!
Much Aloha! A
So nice to find this out! I went to Maui and Kauai last year and the most persistent thing I have in my mind since then is that I have to come back…
