In the Bag
I’m always curious to see what women carry around in their purses and am perpetually impressed how guys can survive without them. Last night when I was switching to a smaller bag for night, I decided to snap a picture of what I normally lug around with me on a daily basis.*
*Candy wrappers, lint and receipts have been removed for the quality of the photograph.
- Cupcakes and Cashmere for COACH bag (seen here, here and here): Accommodates a ton of stuff.
- Marni wallet: Classic black patent that takes well to being thrown around.
- Forever 21 necklace: You never know when you’ll need to spiff up an outfit for nighttime.
- Viva La Juicy perfume: Light, floral and fun to apply.
- Nivea lip balm: I’m kind of addicted to this stuff.
- Calendar + rolling ball pen: I’m obsessive about being prompt and keeping track of appointments.
- Make Up Forever concealer: Easy to use and offers great coverage.
- Band-Aids: Always good to have on hand (plus, you’ll be a hero to someone with a new blister).
- M.A.C. Snob (seen here and here): A pretty, nude pink lipstick.
- Quarters: A necessity in L.A.
- Tide To-Go Stick: Essential for anyone who spills as much as I do.
- Glide floss: You never know when you’re going to have something wedged in your teeth.
- Bobby pins: I like adding little braids and securing them with bobby pins.
- Hair elastics: Perfect for switching hair styles midday.
- Jeweled headband (seen here): Makes a normal hairstyle instantly glamorous.
- Keys: I keep them together with a leather key chain I bought years ago.
- Free People sunglasses: These are my current favorites.
- Motorola Droid: All the great features of an iPhone, but with good service.

I am the same, I lug so many things around with me ‘just in case’. However, when someone is in need of a wet wipe or a plaster and I indefinitely the hero as they always come to me.
I will never understand how a man survives with simply their wallet and keys!

But your bad is great! I have the impression you don’t have so much stuff in it! compared to mine… and if sometimes, I want to take a small bag with me, it’s a nightmare to decide which stuff I’ll put inside…
Well, guys have pockets but we women don’t necessary have any pockets but I have seen people wearing dresses or skirts with pocket in it but not that you can hold anything more than your cellphone or anything in it!!! BTW, I love handbag post!!! I try to minimize what I bring around with me by forcing myself to bring a small handbag.

My guy survives without a bag because he puts all this things in mine! I thus had to suggest that he buy me a big leather one LOL! And guess what I got for my birthday last year?

Also, my husband and I are Americans living in Europe…and my husband finally gave in to the fashion here and bought a ‘man bag.’ It’s hilarious because now he wonders how he will ever survive without in when we are back in the US.

hmm, I love post like this one. I am also always curious what women have in their purses. And I am always nervous about mine – it is always full of old receipts, gum wraps and things like that. You inspired me to make some order in a purse!

haha looks like my purse! one thing I have found that helps my always cluttered bag is I have a very small clutch (Coach, actually!) in which I keep my phone, lip gloss, hand sanitzer, metrocard, and like $5. those are what I see as “essentials” that I go back to many times per day, and it is easier to grab in a bag for the small clutch and know what I will find inside of it!

I refuse to show anyone what’s inside my purse. It’s a disaster.
I don’t leave home without my Glide floss. I also require extra hair elastics or a clips in my bag. I tend to wear hair elastics on my wrist too. If there is one thing that annoys me, it’s food stuck in my teeth. And I seriously hate when I can’t pull my hair up.

I have the same headband from Anthropologie and I swear by the Make Up Forever conceiler. Also use MAC lipstick (in Lovelorn)!
I’m happy to see I’m not the only one who won’t leave home without my Tide To-Go Stick! It has seriously saved so many clothes from permanent stains.

I have too much stuff in my bag during the week. My bag is a cross between a briefcase and a purse so I have case with pens, post-its. paper clips. etc. I always have a book. And I never go anywhere without tylenol. My teenage daughter mocks me until she needs some.

My sister got my boyfriend in our family Secret Santa last year. While she was in Hong Kong getting a pedicure in the middle of a shopping mall, they asked her if they could get her a drink. My sister socially unacceptably asked for beer. She got drunk on beer while getting a pedicure and during the pedicure she spied in a nearby store a manbag “perfect” for the secret santa. It was a risky purchase. Now my boyfriend has the manbag and he doesn’t stop exclaiming how much he loves it and boy does he fill it with some shit, including lots of my shit. Best present, ever.

I could not help but laugh when I read this post, us girls seem to stuff are whole houses into our purses! I am convinced my mom thinks were going to up and leave one day while were out because she manages to put a weeks worth of stuff in her bag! I found most of these items to be things I carry around.
