I Left My Heart In San Francisco
It’s been one week since we returned from our trip to San Francisco and I still haven’t quite adjusted to life in L.A. It’s hard to complain when it’s 75° and sunny, but there’s something to be said about the charm of a smaller city. I loved ducking into quaint boutiques and cozy bakeries that lined the streets of San Francisco and the cohesiveness of all the separate neighborhoods. Here are a few of the photographs that I keep pulling up as a reminder of our lovely time spent up north.
A bakery that had warm baguettes and an impressive selection of fresh pastries.
Sweet, colored lanterns that hung from the trees.
A candy store in Hayes Valley that served cupcakes that were almost too pretty to eat.
You certainly can’t beat the fresh ingredients at China Town.

The city is pretty wonderful! I, too, am a bay area girl. I’ve lived here my whole life and I love being able to take a little trip into the city for some good food and inspiration.
PS: I recently discovered your blog and it is a constant source of inspiration for me! I have tons of clothes and love looking at your outfits to help me decide how to pair certain items!

San Francisco is one of my favourite cities in America…it just has such a lovely atmosphere. It’s different from any other city in the world. But I must admit .. I’m a little jealous of your 75 degree heat!

Recently I moved from San Francisco to NYC and I miss it more everyday. My heart will always be in the Bay Area.

Aw I’ve been to San Francisco a few times, and it broke my heart to leave it each time. Such a special place.
I have ben to San Francisco many time. My mother and father dated there because my mother and her family lived there. A few members of my mother’s family still lives there. A very nice and beautiful city.
i have been dying to go to SF for over a year now. this post just made me fall in love more. definitely going this summer!

I was born and raised in the Bay Area, and I miss SF everyday! Some of my best memories are wrapped in that beautiful city!
I have never been to San Fran and now I’m smitten on making it there to the West Coast!
Em! I love those lanterns! I think you could put together a little homage to San Fran with some lanterns in your apartment…nothing crazy, just a few in the corner by your desk or something.

Ah, I love SF and the whole surrounding area too! I’m lucky enough to have my sister and brother-in-law living in Berkeley so I have reason to visit.

I have to say…I grew up in LA and now live in San Francisco and although I do love and appreciate both…you can’t beat walking out the door and have everything at your fingertips as you do in a real city. And how 5-10 minutes in either direction brings you to a different neighborhood that is a whole new world and has completely its own vibe. Not to mention no driving! I still love LA though and like to visit.

Oh, I love San Francisco! It’s kind of like a European city and so beautiful.
It’s been five months since the last time I was in San Francisco, and I still dream about it almost on a daily basis….
Hmm…those croissants and that handwriting looks familiar! La Boulange on Pine??? Their almond croissants are among the best I’ve ever had, but I snatched up some caneles and sandy, hazelnut shortbread over the holidays.
As a Bay Area girl in LA, I always long for crisp, ocean air and hilly streets of San Francisco. Your photos are already making me excited for my trip back up in two weeks!!

I live in SF where is this bakery?La Boulange? I may have to head over there on my lunch hour and snag one…great way to capture the beauty of this city. I heart Union street! I was up there one year on Valentine’s day and they had red balloons tied to every parking meter for about three blocks – too cute.

I love San Francisco. My fav city I’ve ever been too! I lived in Novato for a year and went down to SF as much as possible.

I am from Brazil and I spent 40 days in San Francisco last year…I love my country but San Francisco made me change my idea about living here for the rest of my life…I could spend all the days of my life there…it’s more than amazing, cozy and charming.

I have such a love/hate relationship w/SF. Hard to not love, but when I was there for 2 months working it POURED rain every day! And it was like hurricane rain, I went through tons of umbrellas.
I could definitely go for one of those croissants right about now…
SF has the best neighborhood restaurants and food anywhere in the US hands down… that’s from a foodie that lived there for over a decade and now lives in NY!

Great photos! You captured my City well. I’m glad you were able to explore and not limit yourself to the more touristy spots.
My husband and I lived in the Bay Area for about 5 months…we had to return to the midwest because he got a promotion (which is amazing, and I’m grateful!). We’ve been back in Indiana since August, and we’re closer to family now, but I have to admit that I’ve literally SHED TEARS over how much I miss SF…it’s my favorite city in the world! Can’t wait to get back for a vacation…a large chunk of my heart is definitely still there…and always will be!
