Hot Hot Heat
As evidenced by my two trips to the desert in the past eight months (here and here), I’ve become hopelessly addicted to Palm Springs. The dry heat and slow pace have always been draws, but lately it’s the interior design of their boutique hotels that has completely converted me. Though I realize it’s not realistic to redecorate my apartment after each trip, I’m convinced that Korakia’s decor is my favorite yet and I’m thisclose to making a reservation for sometime in June. What do you think…are the Moroccan courtyards, fire-pit lined pools and all-white bedding worth the 2 hour drive?

Definitely… the outdoor movie itself is worth the drive! Such fun.
oh. dear. GOD.
i’m living in toronto and i’d say it’s worth the drive across the continent, let alone two hours!
Yes! It is worth it. Looks like the perfect place to get away and relax. Have a wonderful weekend!

Sigh. Wish I was there RIGHT NOW.

Definitely!!! 2 hours is nothing!! That place looks Gorge!
Most definitely looks to be! You can just feel the relaxation coming through from the pictures
The Korakia is my favorite Palm Springs place too. The design makes it all worth it. However, we had friends go last June and it was sweltering and the AC doesn’t work that well there. It’s sort of rustic.
That pool looks amazing. 2 hours is nothing, go for it! http://isnotfashion.blogspot.com/
Love the photos, you should totally book it!!

Totally amazing! I would be there in a heart beat. That is one of the great things about CA, you don’t have to go far to be in a completely different environment.
I LOVE white bedding and that is how I currently have more room decorated. I’ve been thinking of taking a trip out to Cali and everytime I read your blog it only adds to the obsession. I really enjoy reading your blog and look forward to checking out your Etsy shop.
ABsolutely worth the drive. i’m jealous.
all-white bedding is my faaavorite thing. there’s just something about it.
umm absolutely it is!! and so is that pool and outdoor movie screen!!
OH I wanna go! You should go since you’re closer to Palm Springs than I am! My room is decorated Victorian African Safari and it kind of reminds me of the first picture.
I’m appropriately ashamed that this was my first thought, but isn’t that where Audrina and Justin Bobby went last season on the Hills? It looks so familiar…
ughhh i wish i new about this when i went to college in redlands, CA!! i would have visited these often!
Hi Emily,
Not sure if you ever read my fashion blog, but I also have a travel blog and just happened to a post about Palm Springs yesterday (actually an article I wrote for the local paper here).
Palm Springs: The Retro Classic is Hip Again
I love PS, my parents go every year so I steal away when I can. Probably been about 12 times, which is amazing considering I live in Canada lol. What can I say?? LOVE the desert
And would give an arm and a leg to stay in the place you just posted about – you are always so lucky!!

i havent stayed at any hotels in palm springs, only mid-century rental homes. obviously doesnt have the full service amenities of a hotel, but its definitely great for large groups. i love the classic wexler (classicwexler.com). in july we are staying at the alexander( http://www.vrbo.com/52277).
Totally worth it!! The decor is exquisite! Luckily my mother in law will be moving there this month, so maybe it’ll give me and my husband an excuse to stay at one of the hotels you’ve been praising.

I just discovered your blog, and can’t stop reading…you have a new fan!
Just a question (not really related to the post), what websites do you visit for room ideas? I’m currently giving my bedroom a makeover and different ideas would be appreciated. Many thanks!
[...] More room photos here, and the prices don’t seem half bad. Scooped from Emily at Cupcakes and Cashmere [...]
Thanks very much for sharing. It is quite useful.
