Honeymoon Beauty

April 5th, 2012

Fragrances: travel sized candle, nighttime perfume, daytime perfume

With our honeymoon just around the corner (we leave in 10 days!), I’ve started to put together my packing list with one section that focuses entirely on beauty. We’re gone for two weeks, and I want to feel like I can put together a variety of looks on a whim, but without bringing along my entire make-up drawer. Here’s a glimpse of how I’ve broken it down (with a few extra pieces that are crucial for comfortable travel) so that I’ll look fresh faced during the day, with the option to dress things up a bit at night.

Travel essentials: hand & face wipes, ear plugs, chapstick, silk eye mask

Daily make-up: brow wax pencil, cheek stain, hydrating primer, finishing powder, eyelash curler, mascara, eyebrow pencil, illuminatorinvisible make-up, nude lipstick, concealer, star pink pink gloss

Skin prep: sunscreen, advanced night repair, lip ointment, cream

Useful tools: melatonin (for jet lag), pointed Q-tips, visine, make-up remover, sewing kit, tweezers, miniature lint roller, eye make-up removers

Fancy extras: bright eyeshadows, red lipstick, fuchsia lipstick, snob lipstick, fake eyelashes + glue, powder brush, kohl eyeliner, liquid liner, tom ford bronzer

Love you post, Emily! Great travel tips. Every girl over packs (boy, did I for St Lucia a few years ago) and then I realized outfits that can interchange and small day to evening beauty changes are key for a (less is more) great travel experience! I wish you all the best!

What a lovely guide to organised beauty packing, Emily! For me, the clothes and shoes always take priority and beauty tends to be an afterthought but I love how you are so incredibly organised – I’m sure you will be well-equipped for any occasion this way! :)

Oo I’m such a product junkie, I love seeing what other people are using/wearing – I suggest you bring some face blotters – it would be so annoying to be shiny in your photos (or at least this is what my experience is :P )

emily! i have a question about your daily make-up routine….in what order do you use the illuminator, the photo finish, and the make-up forever micro finish powder? what do you put on first? do you use all of them every time?

Hmm it appears like your blog ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing. Do you have any helpful hints for novice blog writers? I’d definitely appreciate it.
