Homemade Oreos
October 6th, 2010
I’ve never met a cookie I didn’t like, but Oreos have always been my favorite store-bought variety. They’re cute, compact and I love that they taste even better when disassembled and dunked into a glass of milk. Despite the fact that the majority of my kitchen has been condensed into four large boxes, the weather these past few days has been far too dreary not to bake something up. I used this recipe and the smell of the cookies managed to quell all of my homesick feelings I’ve been experiencing while packing up my place.

These are mouth-watering! What a great idea. Have to say that I’m stealing the recipe… thanks!
I am definitely trying this recipe this weekend… I want to perfect it before the holidays. LOL!

Ooh, I’ve made this recipe from smitten kitchen, too — they’re fabulous! Great presents, as well.
I wish I was eating one of these oreos right now!
xx
Those look deeeeelish! My son has to take a homemade item to sell in his first grade class because they are learning how to make change and buy stuff with fake money. He wanted to make cookies and I said, everyone will have cookies so we should think of something else. Now, I have reconsidered, not everyone will have THESE cookies….Yum! Who can resist homemade oreos?!

And how funny! A girl in my class just brought in homemade oreos for our art class. They most certainly trump the originals, but you definitely need only one. They are soooo sweet.

So, I got to culinary school in Napa but have been back home in Orange County for the holidays. I baked soooo much the first week, that I need to retire for a bit. I just needed inspiration. So yummy, and perfect for my younger siblings:)
