{Early morning light in my bedroom}
I love how a quick trip can have the most profound effect on your daily life. When I arrived back in L.A., I promptly rolled down the car windows and breathed in the balmy air before heading out for some greasy Mexican food. Besides the weather and culinary advantages of living in California, it’s just nice to be reminded of what you miss most about being away from home.
Also, a huge thank you to beso.com for sending me out to New York for Fashion Week and for taking such great care of me.
{It’s good not to have to resort to the mini bar for spontaneous snack attacks. You’d be surprised at how easily the cost of pretzels adds up.}
{My boyfriend and I plan on catching up on missed shows and watching the Olympics. I think it embarrasses him how often I cry during sporting events.}
{Luna kept me up my first night back with spontaneous baths and a constant purr, but it was worth the loss of sleep to share my pillow with her.}

Good to hear you had a good trip!
Your style is so simple yet so stylish at the same time. I love the daily inspiration I receive from your blog!
That’s awesome – i love how time away from home just puts everything into perspective!
I guess absence really does make the heart grow fonder

Welcome home ! It feels so good coming back after a great trip, right ? Especially if your boyfriend’s there waiting for you !! I’m bracing myself for a week without much sleep, too, since I’m cat-sitting for my parents. It should be fun in my tiny Parisian apartment
Our cats have the same name, so cute

Luna is adorable!
What a relaxing apartment…I’m all about appreciating ‘home’. Great post. xo
There’s no place like home, right? Your apartment looks so inviting!
I see that on your fridge you’ve got the Knock Knock “All out of” notepad. I just adore Knock Knock!

I just got back from house sitting and dog sitting for a week and I felt the exact same way when I came back home. Being amongst your own things and your own animals really has a wonderful effect on the mood!!

Your home looks fabulous!
Luna is beautiful she looks so much like my black cat Angus (I think it’s the lovely eyes). Your home looks so warm and inviting. The living room looks great too. I love your pizza paddle. And how you display it! Welcome home.
OMG you sound like me. I always cry whenever I see a Canadian win a medal…I’m sure you do the same when you watch an American win a medal. I thought I was alone with this, thanks for making me feel less dorky.
Awww Luna looks just like my little Eleanor Rigby!
And there is nothing like rolling down the windows…!

You’re so sweet to sacrifice precious sleep to kitty cuddles!
I would love to be in warm balmy LA right now instead of cold dreary NYC!!

holy crap. i love your blog. is it creepy if i make it my homepage? too late.
you’re gorgeous.
I’m jealous of your table and lamp.
Your home is so lovely and Luna is so adorable
Ahh!! So funny, I posted about finally being back home today, too! Quite different, since you were on another coast altogether, but this trip was TIRING…9 hours of driving round trip (should’ve taken 5) and three screaming children. What the hell were we thinking?! Anyway, your living room is beautiful and *hopefully* I will see it in person this April!! xo
I love the neutrals in your room – soo cozy! And don’t worry, I”m such a sap when it comes to all of those olympic moments too
PS – I don’t know if this has been done or mentioned, but for a “how to” I think you should show how you get that great bun on top of your head! I’m always throwing my hair up, but it just looks like a bird’s nest.

Welcome back to the LA weather! It has been beautiful all week although today things are changing.
Nothing like a little trip to appreciate home again!
I don’t think a day goes by where I don’t cry at something on the Today Show in the mornings. my husband just rolls his eyes.
Your whole place looks so cozy! My favorite thing about getting home from a trip is to sleep in my own bed with fresh clean sheets. Love all that natural light in your bedroom!
http://wwwdiamondsandtulle..blogspot.com
there is no place like home, and yours seems totally california cool/chic! reminds me of my parents home, prior to the remodel – comfortable and stylish living!
thanks for sharing… as always!

I love the lamp and end table! Your living room looks like something out of Domino! I have white bedding too which is sooo cozy to come home to and your kitty is so cute!

It’s nice to see your DIY vintage chairs in the living room…I’m glad you enjoyed this side of the country but totally understand your preference for California.

I love seeing photos of your place. You got some great photos, especially the one of the gorgeous Luna. I know how they can keep you up with extra licks, but it is definitely worth it in the end. She is so cute! I have two toy poodles who keep me up sometimes. xo

Glad you had a great time…oh and you looked so naturally beautiful on Jane’s blog, just had to tell you!
Cute Cat
Awwwww…she missed you!
I always cry during sporting events! I thought it was only me.
I just started reading your blog, and I’m totally in love with it. You inspire me for what I want my blog (www.clearlyfabulous.wordpress.com) to be when it “grows up.”
as a lifelong Cali girl, I resonate with those sensory experiences of spicy food, rollin’ with the windows down, and the colors that only look this way in the SoCal light. it always feels better here (until someone starts shooting just because you merged into their lane).

Hello miss Cupcake & Cashmere, I started reading your blog a few weeks ago! Anwyays, I LOVE your home decor, it is so my style!
It is always so fun to go away, but coming home is always the best. Esp, with the weather we have been having. I felt like going out for a picnic! I cry during the Olympics too girl. Like when Lindsey V. got the gold metal and was crying in her husbands arms. I lost it.
I love the picture of your bedroom and luna!

I feel the same way about my Emma & Winnie.
So awesome of beso to set you up like that – how did that happen, did they approach you or vice versa? I would love to go next year and I have a company in mind but no way to approach it. Would love a reply!
P.S…if you like cupcakes (and i know you do) you’ll like my most recent post. I won’t link it here b/c I hate spammy comments too, but I’ve put it in the link to my name. Check it, sista! Don’t be fooled by the “Nobody Loves Cupcakes” title.
the Olympics make me cry too! I swear, I choke up every time I see someone win the gold and during the medal ceremonies! I’m such a sap
and I agree, it is worth the loss of sleep sometimes to share my pillow with my lil rugrat, my pup, Hazel. she also likes to get right on my lap or arm when I’m working on my laptop (I work from home). it slows my typing down a bit, but she is just so dang cute I let her do it!
Aww Luna look adorable! Don’t worry, I cry at sporting events, too. Haha
your kitty is adorable!!!
http://pieinmypants.blogspot.com/

I dig the “pop” of orange in your living room.

i love your home decor. really nice and cozy. i agree with somone who posted earlier, that you should totally have a tutorial on your signature bun on top of your head. it looks so effortless (which i’m sure it is), but so cool!
Nice to see I’m not the only one who loves L.A! Welcome home.
Your apartment looks very cozy and lovely. And I absolutely adore your little Luna!
http://www.sarabbentley.blogspot.com
great! you have a very nice home, really! and a beautiful cat too!!!
While watching the women’s downhill skiing (not sure the event — the one with the crazy 1.8 mile track) there were quite a few times where I almost burst into tears. Not only was the track steep, long, and icy, but the women had to FLY down the course. And of course, a few wiped out big time. It hurt to watch!
you have a beautifully furnished home !
its soooo cozy !
i loved ur art deco-ish lamp and pillows . red white and black never fails to impress me !
Love your blog!! I bet working while it snows is good when its only for a few days, but I must say I’m a bit tired of it myself.. Maybe because we have it for like 6 mnths here in Norway:/
Have you seen that one Procter and Gamble commercial they run during the Olympics with all the kids, and at the end it says something along the lines of, “To their Moms, they will always be kids”?
Gah, brings the waterworks everytime.
Kitty snuggles are the best snuggles
V. cool chairs – where are they from?
I absolutely adore your apartment. We really love how you’ve incorporated sweet treats and fashion together.

Adorable cat
