Hassle-Free Holidays
One of the biggest perks of spending holiday weekends in L.A. is that you have the entire city to yourself. The streets are wide open, coffee shops are quiet and as I found yesterday, the flea market was free from any competition. Since I left empty-handed my last few trips there, I was ecstatic to come home with so many great new finds. After seeing the cerulean-colored globe, I decided that it should be the second addition to what’s now become a globe collection. I also picked up what could possibly be the most perfect sequined cardigan/jacket combo (check), a fitted leopard blazer (check) and a vintage locket that opens up to reveal a (working!) clock.

A few months ago, I found this really amazing globe at Vegas, out of all places! It was completely comprised of gemstones and on sale. Definitely a winner in my book. Great finds! I especially love the vintage locket!! Ahh, I miss LA, so dearly!

I invested in a black sequined jacket after seeing your one post long ago, that you had also purchased at a market. I love that whole look, it makes a casual outfit look amazing! 
I also love the little vintage clock! I’ve been looking for one of those for a while since the movie “Alice in Wonderland” came out. It’s always a bit of a challenge to find an affordable vintage market or shop in Cape Town, but I will continue to hunt until I find what I am looking for. 
the locket is the best! i’ve got one that use to belong to my grandma but i need to get the actual clock fixed! it’s beautiful though. hurrah for old things!

I love every single one of those pieces, Em. We have a tiny map and globe collection formulating ourselves. I want to start growing it with miniature globes and tattered, framed maps from lots of different places. I figure if I can’t travel as much as I’d like, I can at least fill my home with travel inspiration!

Globes are cool! My family and I play this game where we spin one around with one finger still holding on. We wait for it to stop and look at the location which is where we say we’ll end up living when we grow older. Haha!

Flea markets are my favorite past time, and I love reading about the treasures you find at yours. I am especially loving that pocket watch. Have you considered turning it into a necklace?
