Going Green

October 1st, 2010

Moving into a new place is exhilarating, but the process of getting there is painstakingly brutal (especially when you’re a tried and true procrastinator).     I’ve never liked the process of buying cardboard boxes since it’s wasteful and you have to deal with those creepy Craigslist postings that offer them for free.  Thankfully I was referred to Rent A Green Box, an environmentally friendly alternative that delivers the boxes, and after you move, they come pick them up.   My living room is now a giant green playground for Luna and myself (my boyfriend wasn’t as amused as the two of us), so now we just have to start packing them up.  Here’s to a productive weekend!

does luna love getting into the boxes? I had the same kind of cat, Lewis, and he was a big ol’ nut for rolling around in suitcases, boxes, and other closed in areas!

these pictures are so adorable! –and it looks like you guys had SO many boxes! that is a really good idea though. the system benefits the environment, and at the same time, you won’t have to worry about finding a place to put the boxes when you are finished with them. you also have an incentive to unpack everything! i know i procrastinate when it comes to unpacking things after a move.

i can’t wait to see pictures of your new home on your blog soon!

Somehow I missed this on Friday, but what a darling post! I am with you on the boxes not only being cumbersome but disgusting…this is such a great alternative. And how adorable that they happen to be green, as well! Hope the process goes smoothly:)

    Gd luck with the move.
Don’t you just love how the boxes are green? Everytime something is environmentally friendly they colour it green!
(Yes, I spelt colour with a ‘u’ because I’m Australian and that’s the way we roll).

Yea, I saw this company on the show “The Lazy Environmentalist” on Sundance. It’s great to see people are using them/they’re still in business because it’s such a great concept.
