Girl in the Water
March 19th, 2009
One of my readers introduced me to She Hit Pause Studios and I immediately fell for their whimsical Polaroids that are divided into groups like Girls and Dreams, Coney Island and Flowers. The blurry details add a rather haunting effect and I love how the props only add to the dream sequence-like feel. Don’t they make you want to just put on a sundress and run around in a field of dandelions?

i love the fourth one…the textured tights and vintage suitcase, love it~
I generally feel like wearing sundresses and frolicking in fields, but this definitely reinforces that.
Great find!
Beautiful pictures. It reminds me of those parts on films when the character reminds something with nostalgia. They are really pretty and have a dream-atmosphere.
The first one is a bit creepy, I feel like a shark might come after her. I like the last one though. http://isnotfashion.blogspot.com
The third one really reminds me of growing up with my mother. She had all these amazing records- Carole King, Carly Simon, The Stones, Dylan and my little brother and I used to dance to them all the time. I kind of want to put them all in a red wheel barrow and take them around town now!
Those photos are amazing!!!
very eye catching
Gorgeous.
These are so pretty. I love the records in the Radio Flyer cart. So neat!
I wonder what post-production these photos went through! Polardoids are fun to destroy and desaturate, and these have SUCH a mood to them.
A behind-the-scenes of a shoot would be SO cool to see.
These are stunning! They’re almost sad in a way, the blurriness makes me think of memories and nostalgia.
I love the Girls and Dreams collection- they’re a little Lolita-esque… very beautiful, part-innocent, part-destructive, almost dark. yet you can’t take your eyes off of them! Love them. Thank you for sharing.
WOW, these are so wonderfully beautiful!
Nice pics.
Hi there-very romantic, bohemian piccys, lovely!
these photographs are great!
Great pictures! I really like the first one… o what I would do just to be able to go swimming right now.
love!
Very retro. They recall simpler times before we were all obsessed with iPods and cell phones. Sometimes I’d love to go back there.* And how awesome is blowing dandelions! I remember getting in trouble because my grandmother hated them and didn’t want more sprouting in her gardens and fields.
*But usually I come to my senses when I remember how convenient and happy these things also make me. So I’m generally torn.
So adorable pics.. They remind me of my mother’s photos from the 70′s.
Beautiful! And in answer to that last query, yes!
xoxox,
CC
omg what a coincidence! i just met this photographer this past sunday at the Brooklyn Flea! My favorites were the bicycle one and typewriter one.
Really beautiful and timeless.
These are beautiful! They sum up how I wish my life was. Haha
These are awesome…thanks for the link!
Love the photo of a girl’s legs in the luggage. They’re great!
The blurry-ness of these photos makes me think of memories. And dancing in the sun. Beautiful pictures!
i love the tights and the wagon full of records! You have excellent taste.
Greta photos – thank you for sharing them

I love these type of pictures. I’ve seen a couple of sites posting these beautiful polaroids lately. Makes me with I’d kept my 80s era Polaroid.
to be honest… i think they’re really pretty but kind of creepy. xo.
I love these photographs… and I agree with a few of the others, they give off a creepy vibe. :]
These are incredible photos! I have to check this site out. Thanks for sharing!
LOVE these pics!
like entering a romantically charged vintage dreamscape. just beautiful.
I adore these photos… but they also kind of remind me of the murder-scene shots from cold case files.
These poloroids are too beautiful, I wish I could be in them
