Funny Girl

November 7th, 2008

First of all, I’d like to express how deeply moved I was by all of your sweet comments on yesterday’s post.  As readers and fellow bloggers, you have become part of my extended family and your support helped me in ways that I cannot even begin to express.   On another note, since I’ve blown through nearly two boxes of Kleenex, I figured it would be a nice change of pace to direct my thoughts towards funnier things.  Below I’ve included moments from five of my favorite (and undeniably stupid) comedies to help lighten my mood.

“Best in Show”

“Dumb and Dumber”

“Meet the Parents”

“Deuce Bigalow”

“Something About Mary”

What’s your go-to movie that always helps cheer you up?

I always go to Drop Dead Gorgeous… it reminds me of my middle school days when my friends and I knew every line. Comedy AND memories = comforting. :)

GREAT list. Meet the Parents is a fave, and of course its companion Meet the Fockers. I’ve never laughed so hard as I did when Ben Stiller had to wear the male breast feeding device…

The original Austin Powers is one of my longtime faves—it’s so absurd, and Dr. Evil is just about the most quotable character ever!

Amelie, Love Actually and Clueless. I really like Brittany Murphy and Hugh Grant. She is so bubbly and sweet and he so charming in his own funny way.. And many movies from Audrey Hepburn like Funny Face, Sabrina and Breakfast at Tiffanys are not just inspiring but also cheerful.

I just found your blog a few days ago and I must say I adore it! Thank you :)

Steel Magnolias. Shirely Maclaine is the everything. But I do agree – Best in Show makes me laugh outloud when I even think about it.
