Fringe Fanatic

June 6th, 2008

As I mentioned in my last post, I’m making the trek out to Pasadena on Sunday for the Rose Bowl Flea Market and I can barely wait. With over 2,500 vendors, it can be quite overwhelming, but after nearly two years of attendance, I’ve finally figured out the best places to browse. While it does require some discipline (going out on Saturday night is not an option), I always return home with great little gems that are fashionable, cheap and almost always one-of-a-kind. Not only is it known as the shopping place of the stars (I’ve bumped into Adrian Grenier and Katherine Heigl to name a couple), but nearly everyone in attendance is a young hipster with impeccable style. I quickly realized that my 4-year old, super-functional ‘Bank of America’ tote would not suffice, which is why I became enamored with this Suede Fringe Passport Bag. With a convenient zipper on the top, and a long strap that can be worn across one’s body, it’s a great size to hold all my cash, while still appearing relaxed and chic.

Oh! I’m so jealous. One of the things I REALLY miss about living in L.A. is that flea market — have fun!

You should take a camera and shoot all of the dazzling finds and hipsters and post them all!

My boyfriend and I were just talking about going to the Rose Bowl this Sunday! We just moved & are in need of fabulous furniture…any tips for vendors to check out? Obviously clothes should always be first and foremost, but I guess houses deserve new outfits too.
And not to be creepy, but I just saw in your post on squareoldsoul that you went to Scripps & I think you must’ve been a year ahead of me or so while I was at Pomona. Um, small world? Not really, I guess, but still neat. Oh yah, and your blog’s fab!

Thanks for your comment! I’m self-conscious when it comes to my writing since I’m so young (and very vulnerable to making errors), but it’s great to know that I’m not a horrible writer!
I’m in love with fringe bag. I’ve gone to a few flea markets in my area, but they aren’t nearly as impressive as the Rose Bowl!
