When we got back from New Orleans on Monday night, our place was cold and the fridge was empty. Though we were home, it just didn't feel like it. Perhaps the sudden change from festive parades and Southern hospitality was simply too harsh a transition, but regardless, I had to shake the feeling. I went into the kitchen and despite having little to work with, I made Barefoot Contessa's Cranberry Orange Scones. Immediately things shifted, and with the aroma of freshly baked scones, it felt like we were home.
