Flavors of Fall
I always think I’m going to mourn the disappearance of fresh berries and melons at the end of the summer, but it’s never the case. Fall produce, with its hearty vegetables and crisp fruit, is ideal for cooler weather and I’ve been indulging on a daily basis. The colors and textures are so inviting and since the temperature has finally eased up a bit, I’m that much more excited to cook (without breaking a sweat).

Dahlias! My grandpa used to plant them in our garden when I was a kid, and now I am so sentimentally attached to them. Trouble is, whenever I buy a bunch they wilt so quickly
Excellent photos!
Yummy!
Mm, shouldn’t have seen that before breakfast. =]
Great colours! I love fall.
Some of my favorite vegetables are ones that grow in the fall. I think I could eat something made with butternut squash every day, and you should see the sweet potatoes that I got at the farmer’s market — they’re each about the size of two baseballs!!
i’m always the same way.. so sad to see summer end, thinking i’ll dread the cooler weather. then as soon as it comes it puts me in the happiest mood! that reminds me i haven’t had asparagus in such a long time. that might need to change tonight:) have a great weekend emily! xo
I know. . . I always forget how much I like fall food until fall comes around. Last night, we had a wonderful acorn squash stuffed with wild rice, dates, and nuts. It was a lovely blend of great fall flavors!
I agree! Visiting a farmer’s market in the fall and picking up fresh produce is one of my favorite things to do.
I love eggplants and any kind of squash. Eggplants I eat all year because I love them so much.
love the farmer’s market!
Ohh I wish we had a farmer’s market worth going to around here. Gorgeous flowers!

I think my favourite fall produce is definitely the Honeycrisp apples. They are only out in september/october and they are the most delicious apples in the world
Fall means root vegetables, which means deliciousness everyday!
