Flat Footed

In my book, flat sandals always get a bad reputation.  They’re usually boring, uncomfortable and terribly unflattering.  Regardless, I’ve decided to give them a second chance since there are times when you just can’t be propped up on 4 inch heels for an extended period of time.  Here are just a few of this summer’s crop that have caught my attention.

Outdoor Concert: Steve Madden $149.95
City Shopping: Old Navy $19.50
Wine Tasting: Topshop $55
Daytime Picnic: Topshop $32
Family Dinner: Emma Pink $75
Sunday Brunch: Mystique $140

Do you have a favorite pair?

  1. The Steve Madden and red Topshop darlings are fabulous! Makes me want to go out and add to my collection.

  2. I was actually kind of excited when flat gladiator sandals came into style! I have what I think are oddly shaped feet, and strap-free flip flops and what not always seem to fly off my feet. But somehow I still never ended up utilizing the trend! This post might just make me cave though. Those little Emma Pink ones are so darling!

  3. i want every single pair!

  4. I tend to go for gladiator sandals. Sam Edelman makes the best. I live in mine. And his flats are incredibly comfortable.

  5. Love the concert flats. I have a pair of chunky vince camuto’s that I refer to as my woodstock shoes..perfect for concerts and so many men have complimented them! Also, mini mocks from jeffrey campbell are a fave concert shoe!

  6. definetely keeping the steve madden´s

  8. I’m totally with you on the flat thing. I just can’t do it!

  9. i neeeeeeeeeed the orange….red?…orange? topshop ones.

  10. I was just over to @ Closet Therapy. She was talking about flats also. I was saying I try not to wear them because I’m already flat footed and when I do, they make my feet look even wider. But I do like the ‘city shopping’ pair. I love metallic sandals. They are so easy to wear and go with EVERYthing.

  11. I do!
A pair of yellow flats with two yellow sunburst-flowery things on the top of my foot- and for $12.99 at Payless! They were like your yellow purse, not usually what I would buy or practical in color, but they fit well and I find things to pair them with all the time!

OH- I found them! You can see them here-

  12. I really really love this post! I seem to find my self walking a lot when I get dressed up, so I enjoy wearing a comfortable pair of flats. The “family dinner” ones you show here are my favorite. I bought a brown pair of embellished sandals and they are very versatile. Thanks for showing other ideas for flats.

  13. ooh…my faves are City Shopping and Wine tasting…I’ve gotten so many new pairs of these flats this summer…I live in them!
